That scares me. Would I push that button?
Well... not really. Money isn't that important to me and I'm way too suspicious to fall for that guy's line.

Question: Isn't temptation a sin?
Tempted to push a black button of unknown or catastrophic events.
 
Temptation is only a sin if you give into it. Jesus was tempted many times. Of course getting tempted to get some food and giving in would likely not be a sin lest you would starve to death :\

Temptation itself isn't a sin, but it can lead to sin. Like VK said, Jesus was tempted on the Mount of #)(R#$FJ (to turn rocks into bread, etc.). Jesus said no, just as we should say no if we ever get the chance to press that black button.
 
yeah... i must agree with lazerous.. (i think taht is who said it) money isn't that important to me. yet that is an interesting concept... just one out of 5.6 billion... people... not that much. people die every day, not.... why not just "one" more. haha, i love mind games. yet then again. Interesting concept.

He was pondering back and forth, was it the right choice or the wrong choice.
Especially when he got a time limit, very tense.

The old guy knew who he was, his past history, his debts.
If you were close to broke or dead-end, I'd speculate you would be desperate enough to take the money.

Though, made me wonder, how do you spend $10 million dollars in Hell? :confused:
 
I think that's part of his eternal pergatory - he knows that he basically murdered someone else for 10 mill that he couldn't spend.... that if he could have seen the bigger picture, he could have saved a life.

But that's the beauty of it all, too. We know right now that all of this is just temporary. God even tells us in the Bible to not focus on earthly things...to not focus on the here and now...rather to focus on the eternity.

We know right now that our choices lead us to eternal life or eternal condemnation. We also have the option to share that information with others - giving them the same choice.
 
How awkward would that be to actually see the person you just killed though? that would be a REALLY awkward sight...


"Hi, ummm.... sorry? won't happen again? "
 
bend your mind on this one... at the very end, the guy giving the money says "I'll be seeing them next"... so when the guy leaves the room, does he see not only:
1) the person he just killed... but also
2) the person that got him killed

Do you get to face the person that got you into the situation in the first place as part of their eternal hell? Do you get confronted by the person you just killed as part of yours?
 
Ah, speculation...

I don't think you'll be seeing people that often in hell... it's more of a place for torture than a social zone.
 
but wouldn't you feel pretty bad if you're the reason that someone else was faced with the choice, and failed... plus the constant reminder...right there in your face, about what you had done?
