Members of Redeemed and TOJ:

While in Vent this afternoon I made the following comment. "I am going to make a black character and put it in a white wedding dress. I will call him Dennis Rodman". I was then told by Michaelpi to not make racist comments. This is the most upsetting thing that has ever been said to me in WoW and has inspired me to leave Redeemed.

My real life girl friend is a BLACK woman. A lot of my friends are BLACK people. Last I checked her family is BLACK! For you to have the audacity to make an inferrance that I am a racist or my behavior is racist is an outrage. Let alone to make that inferrance in a Vent channel where I am questing with friends and guildmates. If you have an issue with something that I am saying or have said you need to take the appropriate course of action and pst me or talk to me in a one on one situation. You DO NOT make statements like that unless you are sure of what you are talking about and have the facts to back it up.

Upset on many levels...

I am truly sorry to hear this event happenend....and can understand your displeasure. But, I also have some questions?

1. Is the offender with Redeemed any more, I see a posting he was leaving?
2. Because of this ONE person, you are saying Redeemed and TOJ are racist and leaving?
3. Do you think anyone on vent thinks your a racist do to the comment? I certainly do not.

4. I do not really see anything racist with what you posted. Black man, white man, orange man, or golden brown man such as myself is not racist, but adjectives to describe. You reference was meant for illustration if you knew who the basketball player in a wedding dress was; some may not.

I'm am not saying you do not have a right to be upset; but please take in consideration the age and experience of the offender and what role he has in Redeemed and TOJ. Diversity continues to be difficult issue due to experience, age, etc....as you may have guessed I am Asian, Thai to be specific. Am I WOW farmer, no, does my ethnic background fit the description yes. Do I have a digital camera and like to take picture yes...
Would I let the comments from ONE player in WOW make me quit the guild no.
Does this offender seem to judge alot yeah...should he...no...

SamJ thank you. I appreciate what you are saying. To answer point #2 in your reply, no I do not believe that Redeemed or TOJ are racist. There are several factors that have brought me to the decision of leaving Redeemed and most of them have to do with this offending person. I would very much still like to be friends with the great and i mean great people I have built a relationship with here. I want to still help the people of redeemed reach their goals and I still want my shot at all the boss fun. The politics that come along between the TOJ side of things and the Redeemed side of things is the biggest issue here.

Then there are trouble makers like Goblit to worry about ( and yes I am so joking, again this is sarcasm!).

So in the mean time, LET"S DANCE!
 
I was there and witnessed the incident. Michaelpi has been told to voluntarily refrain from using my vent server or be permanaently banned.

He did call Dukatt a racist. Atown and I were in attendance as well as a few others.

I love that quote now....and I'm not even going to go "Grammar Police" on you about the quote marks being there instead of an apostrophe.

Anyways, hopefully this can all be resolved soon so we can all forget about it. But in the meantime..."Healbot" will be available when you need her. =P
 
I have something to add. Did Michaelpi know you where a black person? Because i can see what michaelpi was going with since i doubt he knew you where black. If he would have known i bet he wouldn't have said that.

If you weren't really going to leave the guild and ToJ, then why did you cause this drama? I mean it was totally unessessary...

First off I am not black. My friends family and others are.

I have left the guild and dont plan on comming back.

Let's look at the threads from the last few months and see who causes drama shall we?

this is digressing. I would ask that we might consider the statement "If you can't say something nice don't say anything at all" for this thread.

Alizak, I <3 you, but you were not there and are not even in the guild. From my perspective I want to mention that your comments seem a bit hostile and argumentative.
