Believing in God/Jesus

Ohhh, I asked in another post if you were a Hinninite!

If you ever get obstinate that will be the term, "Don't be a Hinninite!"

Are there any authors of science and history of the Christian faith that you trusted?

Is the reason you lost faith personal?

Quote[/b] (Marcylene @ Oct. 20 2004,12:25)]Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20
Context,, so often this verse is applied to non-believers, when infact it is talking to believers.

it is from one of the seven churchs, and Jesus is telling the deluded members of the church to wake up and realize what is happening, to get their act together.

You can find this by reading the verse in context really 19-22.

The point I was getting across is that God is wanting us to come unto Him. There are other verses that will confirm this. Whosoever will may come and our LORD is wooing. That verse is for us all, as is God's Word in its entirety.

Today's daily devotion sheds some light on reasoning/logic and believing in God.

As I sit down to write the verses I mentioned, this one came to mind.

Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more that can be numbered.  Psalm 40: 5

I love this whole chapter!  It speaks of David seeking, the LORD lifting him up, and in verses 7 & 8, of David accepting his invitation.  I have mentioned that the LORD woos, verse 5 to me, is more than the greatest of lovers could ever do. We do think often of those we love...Psalm 139:18 agrees with this, more in number than sand!  If I may have poetic liberty here, I think of every grain of sand on earth.  Not only that, but to see the beauty of each grain of sand under a microscope...sorry, D.V., it is my romantic heart...it makes me feel loved more than I can ever really imagine!  Actually, all of that chapter describes God's thoughts to us from the womb.  I do not pretend to know all the things of God, but I take special notice of verse 8.  This says to me, if I choose to reject him, even in hell He is there.  I think the verse where God speaks to Elijah bears mentioning.  He passes by in I Kings 19:11.  Then, He speaks!

...and after the fire a still small voice.  I Kings 1:12 I love that term!  Tender, loving, caring, wooing!

I do so hope I am answering what you wished.  I am not entirely certain.  In an above post I spoke of the wooing and whosoever will may come.  I will not make this any more lengthy for you before answering the whosoever, but those, for me, speak of a great lover who woos, there are plenty more!

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. Revelation 22:17

Matthew 18: 3 & 4 a "whosoever will" with instruction!
We all know John 3: 15 & 16

And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?  John 11:26

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21

To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. Acts 10: 43

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13

Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. I John 4:15

Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. John 5:1

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. II Peter 3:9

Isaiah 60: 1 ~ 5  verse 5, the abundance of the see shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.

Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of psersons:
But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted of him. Acts 10: 34 & 35

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.  Isaiah 53:7  Notice the all and the fact because of the all, our sins are paid in full, rather we accept it, or not!  What a waste of precious blood.

eeee, this got long, did it not?  Revelation 3:20 was the original verse that we spoke of.  That is the one that I said was for us all.  The whosoever and wooing...sorry, D.V., I did try to explain it, it got a bit longer than a verse!

The LORD laid something on my heart.  For the longest I was praying for a mate.  I have many a romantic idea, but first and foremost is the one that we lounge around and read and speak of God's Word!  He has a sense of humor...No mate!  But I did get someone to discuss God's Word with!  lol  Is this a blessing or a punishment?

This is far from what I had in mind!!!!!!

Edit~
Dearest D.V.,
Not really certain which verse you wanted, so...I gave you a couple or so:)

Ah yes, the knocking at the door thing. I tried using that as an analogy for my situation, but was told I was taking it out of context.

I have found, D.V., there will be opposition on every side, more especially if you are of the opinion that the sky is blue
