Behind our ToJ names

Stc95

Tribe of Judah Guild Wars Chapter Leader
so we have a "Behind ur Character names" thread, and that was really cool. but what about our ToJ/CGA names? like Manyik and Maid Mirawyn and Chicken Soup?

soo... GO FOR IT!

STC95 is short for StormTrooperC95, it was my name i used when i was in a StarCraft clan WAYYYYY long ago. it just stuck. but StormTrooperC95 was too long for some stuff so i shorted it to STC95, and then i got tired of the caps so it became Stc95. and thats how it is now. :D yay me!

I can handle this one. Manyik is Kel's Maiden name. If you notice the avatar above says Johnson Family. Well you can imagine that Manyik is much less common that Johnson. WE use Manyik as our account name everywhere because no-one else has it yet and everyone tries Johnson. So there you have it. Kel was actually looking for a place to explain this and just never found the right palce.

It's pronounced without the y like manic. Yes just like Manic-Depressive lol. Try growing up with that name. Thankfully most kids don't get the connection. :D

Kel Queen of all Europe

im Atown....... like always.... lol, Atown has jsut been a name ive liked for years, ive had variations but pretty much always Atown

The first part of my name is from a sport I like to do very much, slalom skiing (water skiing with one ski). The second part is my initials....*gasp* now you know the initials to my name.
I have always used slalomdms as my name when i register for stuff.

The Chad is a character from Charlie's Angels. Ironically, I've never actually seen that movie... 12/15 is my birthday. Nothing too exciting there...

The only nickname I ever had in real life was when one of my old baseball coaches called me "Ironhead". Can't imagine why. Me hardheaded? Meh.

I have been a deer hunter since I was 12 years old. Most of my logins had hunter as a nickname. There were so many hunters that eventually I added my old baseball number and football number so my login wouldn't be duplicated. I became hunter22_63.

The first game I ever played online with real peeps was America's Army. Most other players had a single name for a nickname. My old hunter22_63 stuck out like a sore thumb.

One day I purposely decide to try to come up with a single nickname that would be hard to duplicate. I began playing with syllables.

Halonic was born. I have never played the game Halo so it did not come from that. The only Hal I recall from memory was the computer in 2001 A Space Odyssey.

Halonic is just a made up name that signifies nothing.

lol mine... sdenotter... uh well its my name =D Sam den Otter but my TOJ name... is superaktive

that came from about when i was 12... i mad my name into an acronym

Super Active Man

then i started to grow up and realized it was goofy... so it changed it to

superactive

then i decided it needed some counterstrike in it... so i up an AK in it... (im not actually sure if that is what my TOJ used account name is... but i still use it where im ghost admining)

Cloud is from.....yes....FF7. My best friend in high school started calling that and for what ever reason and it stuck. I played a lot of FPSs online and it was actually pretty funny.....imagine getting frag again and again and again by some guy name Cloud....."I usually like to dream with my head up in the clouds, not getting my head blown off by cloud" -some random person

When I got into games like Never Winter, Diablo, and Dungeon Siege Cloud just didn't have the same effect, so I took up Gainsborough.

When GW came out, you had to have two names...so Cloud Gainsborough. Not some crazy notion that Cloud takes Aeris's last name......those of you that have seen Advent Children know this.

SO.....Cloud G is just the short versions of my GW main.

One2dredd came from my days playing C & C. I needed something different that no one had and I spent like an hour typing in different names and everyone had it lol. So I saw this DvD sitting on my Desk called Judge Dredd. Than the lights went on! one2dredd was born. It has always fit my once I get going in again I am not the best but I am usually pretty good at anything I play so I try and live up to the name lol.

well, i am a sesame street kid. i grew up on oscar and burt and erney. so when i was registering i was thinking "i want to be really original, have a name that is so simple, yet deep that no one has even thought about having it." plus i was about to take a shower and suddenly the little juke-box in my head started " Rubber ducky your the one, you make bath time so much fun....." and so RUBBER DUCKY WAS BORN! however when i play Halo (greatest FPS ever) my name is Def@ul7 it makes folks SO MAD! sorry that was off topic. i havent had lunch yet. :(

lol default... I do that too only just "default" and no 1337

yeah i use default when playin halo too, which is currently very rare though. Atown was just a handle me n my bro came up with, i justed needed a decent handle compared to my last, tigerwolfang_01 (for those of you who played hte orignal suikoden).

i love it though. i got this one guy to throw down his controller. i let him get a running riot (not on me) and then as soon as the guy said "RUNNING RIOT" i shot him in the head! BANG! one shot one kill. he was all like "GAHH!!!!! DEFAULT! I HATE THAT GUY!" unfortunatly* i was sitting next to him, so i had to celebrate quitely but it was hilarious all the same.

what is so aggrivating about being killed by default? it makes people so made. is it because you cant recognize who it is? is it because it is so uninventive? but really everyone comes up w/ these kool and complicated names i just go w/ the underestimated "default" it gets some funny reactions, if im on the other side of the room. :)

Ha ha! I explained Maid Mirawyn in the character names thread. :)

Maid Mirawyn:
My character in the D&D campaign my hubby runs is named Mirawyn. She is a half-elven sorceress-cleric. I "made up" the name using the elven naming info from the back of Tolkien's Silmarillion; I chose parts that meant something I liked and created a pretty name. "Mir" mean "jewel;" "-wen" or "-wyn" is a common suffix for a female name. (Arwen, Eowyn...) It's very appropriate, since she has a draconic bloodline. (Think of a dragon's hoard.) I added "Maid" when I created an Adventure Quest character. Plus, it's reminiscent of "Maid Marian."

And of course, I used Maid Mirawyn when I made my very first GW character. Then I used it when I registered at Fans for Christ. Two weeks later I registered here, and used the same name. (I already had over two hundred posts at FFC, so I figured it would be good to stick with it...)

(Prior to that, I had used Xandria: either Xandria D'Moore, a LARP character I had played with NERO, or Xandria Moonbrook, my first REAL D&D character. I even used it for my blog. But then I couldn't get "Xandria" at a few places.)

what is so aggrivating about being killed by default?

I think it's funny. You always hear that something happens "by default." So "getting killed by default" is absolutely hilarious to me. It's like you're supposed to get killed, unless something intercedes...
