ballistic pots

Can anyone tell me what Gathering Will give the Best mats for the largest Ballistic Pots. I have scavenging now but I see that will not work with apothecary after 1.2 so looking to switch but cant find the answer if butchering or cult. is better. Would much rather do butch. Because I read you will be able to re-train in the city and keep your current level from scav. to butch and I have tryed cultavation and its a little more involved than I like but I need to go With the one that will help My Engineer the most in the end. Thanks for your time :)

This is the best I could find searching the web, Does not seem that infomative or accurate.

"I spent much time on PTS yesterday and came to this conclusion:

You can not make all the pots with one gathering skill.

It appears that with cultivation you can make pots for:

Spirit Resist
Corp Resist
HoT pots
InstaHeal Pots
Will
Int
Str
Ballistics
AP Pots
Flame breath
Molotov
DoT Bomb

So I am guessing butchers get:

Elemental resist
Shielding
Armor
Toughness
Thorn
Snare"

They should have took a page out Of wow's book and made a list by level what you can make and where to get it : (. Maybe it just takes getting use to but proffesions seem almost more work than worth.

/end QQ

Hopefully patch 1.2 helps with this a little.

here was the note of interest.

Crafting System Improvements! We've made many improvements to the game's crafting system, including pairing-off specific gathering skills with specific production skills in order to make crafters more self-sufficient. Also, the leveling curve of trade skills has been improved and fewer components are required to create items. Last, but certainly not least, is the addition of new craftable items!

Although I claim 90% ignorance to the specifics of the patch notes, here's what I would do.

Change the character that you plan to level to 40 to a butcher. That way you won't miss out on those components. Then, create a new lowbie to do the cultivating. Now, I'm not sure how the new cultivation will work, but at current state, a lvl 1 toon can cultivate so long as he is fed the proper level seeds all the way to 200. If the new patch doesn't change that premise, I think that's the way to go.
