April'09 UI screenshot Thread!

Nui's stuff is cool but I cant handle it personally, I need as minimalistic as possible while still being a power-user.

I hate clutter on my UI, like Ewoks said I want needed info showing and not an over abundance of clutter. What I can hide stays hidden.

Here is a list of every mod I use.

BugGrabber - does exactly that catches errors
StopTheSpam - Filters out an addon loading spam
Ace3 - Ace files for mods
ACP - Addon Control Panel, allows me to turn mods on/off in-game w/o logging off, requires /rl to reload your ui.
ArkInventory - All in one bag, allows you to create section to put potions, food, junk, bop gear, and you can create custom sections to show things like Armor sets.
Atlasloot - In game loot from everywhere
Auctioneer - AH mod, only loads on Gnimish
Auditor2 - Tracks cashflows ins/outs
Automaton - auto sells grays, ding announcer, quest gossip filter, autores in bg's...etc..

Buttonfacade - action bar button skinner
Carbonite - map, quest, minimap mod
Chinchilla - Custom minimap
Classtimer - track,s dot's, hot's, skills
Cooldowncount - cooldown umbers on action bars
Cosplay - puts a reset/undress button on the dressing room
DBM - deadly boss mod timers
DynRepBar - auto changes shown Rep whenever u gain rep from faction..
eepanels2 - borders/edges around chat and action bars

Calendarfu - small icon on fubar for calendar removes minimap button
Clockfu - a clock
Durabilityfu - umm shows gear durability %
factionfu - tracks faction rep
Mailfu - mail icon on fubar
Performancefu - displays fps, ping, addon memory use.
volumefu - easy volume control

Sct/sctd - shows onscreen damage done and other stuff
Sharedmedia - custom images, fonts, etc..
Skillet - better tradeskill window

I don't think its messy, you did a great job putting things in place and its balanced out. It's a good UI, but it's just way too much stuff on screen for my personal tastes, is all I was saying.

Yea thats what i'm saying to, with all that info on the screen you're bound to be looking at some stuff when you should be focused elsewhere.

I'm like Ewoks I want my screen as open as possible so I can see whats happening all around me easily. Especially tanking, I don't want to have to do a lot of looking cause it takes my attention away from what I should be doing.

your guys look more crammed then mine... i mean what do you see as confusing? cause i can explain what it actually is

My ui is functional and yet simple. It has all the spells I need for tanking or even for back-up healing or pvp.

The first ss is just me about to enter a dungeon, and the second one is in combat.

if you have any questions on what I use or anything just ask. pretty sure I can explain most of it in detail.

Quick Question that comes to mind:
For the custom cast bars - does your UI change when you do something like the Wymrest daily and the other dailies which come up with their own cast/control bar?

I do not think you are at all cluttered, Galations. However, my screen is... And some of ya'll must be playing with tremendous sized moniters... I try to keep mine with only info I need. For a raid or party, I will load Omen and Recount while turning off adds like Auctioneer and Lightheaded (quest info from wowhead.com). Although I could use the info on the particular dungeon I may be in, it literally becomes distracting and too much info to process. When I am tanking, I want to be sure that I am holding aggro, know if a critter gets on my healer or a clothie in my party. Those three things occupy all of my 8 bit path width in my brain...frequently overloading it. Staying alive... I leave that to my healer. If they cannot keep up with me, something is wrong. I am either in over my head or the healer is.

And no - I has no l33t skilz for posting a ss...If I really needed to, I would. Nothing to brag about in my UI.

I think my biggest thing with yours is the windows above the chat box and recount. Then the bar across the top. Also I'm not a fan of Hud's. Another thing is the way every thing is organized at the bottom, I think the biggest thing is the raid frames, Action bars, minimap, buffs are all right there together, it makes me feel cramped. That's just me though.

The whole thing about UI's is use whats comfortable to you. Also the customization is dependant on each person, maybe someone has a feature in their's you like or vice versa. As long as it serves it's purpose for you and you get the job done, all else is secondary.

Yes,the top bar in my UI becomes the control for whatever is going on. For ex. with the wyrmrest flying dragon daily at the temple, it just changes to the buttons for the dragon's skills.

hahahahahah 32 flavors of DI!

I used to be all about custom UI, but it got to the point where major patch days were PAINFUL for me. Having to redo my casting bars, having to constantly screenshot so I wouldn't forget where each button was, broken mods, etc. Aside from that, and I especially noticed this with bar mods, I play on two computers, and that can also be painful to keep organized between both computers. So I switched back to basic UI with some mods that I couldn't live without

Bagnon
X-perl
Cartographer
CT Buff mod

and only on my desktop, fubar for GuildFu (easier than hitting O then scrolling through) I don't run fubar on my laptop though.

I find wow runs faster, with a higher frame rate, loads quicker, and patch day comes and goes without headache.

o and those bars above the chat and combat log... they USE to go alll the way to the top of my screen with my buffs and my pets buffs since my ui maker changed them... I ALMOST cried but i changed so it only shows i think 5 buffs

and im different in that i liek it all there so i can glimpse down see all the info i need to and then keep going whats really nice is that the buttons let me change what my hud does, what shows were recount is and the other one let me change how my raid bars look. Like i click the one next to recount and it switches to either a map, omen, or combat log, the raid one changes from player, to party, to any size raid, the hug changes from full like i have it or just health mana or none i love it
