Anyone really good with image software?

I have a special side project I'm working on that I plan on making into a video and releasing on youtube. It's a tutorial, really.

I've decided to have the video based off of stills that are somewhat animated or enhanced, using animated arrows or other simple objects to emphasize audio narration. However, this is proving to be a lot more difficult than I was expecting, and was wondering if anyone had any tips.

Also, how do you make the effect of zooming into an image to focus on a certain area of it, and then have objects pop out?

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Not a pro at this ... wouldn't even consider myself amateur ... more of a dabbler.

If I was going to do this, and it was going to be a video, I might use something like Powerpoint to make a slide show and then record it with something like Hypercam.

Powerpoint has a transition effect that does that for you. Otherwise, I guess you actually zoom in on the object, if it's still you are turning into a video, then zoom in a bit, take a pic, zoom in some more, take a pic, etc. Objects pop out - haven't done that.

If you use something like Hypercam, you can just record, pause, zoom in, record, pause, zoom, etc - and it will turn it into a video automatically.

Like I said, not a pro. Someone may have a better way, this is just what I've done in the past since I didn't know any better. Wouldn't have answered at all if someone had. :D

Good luck!

Is it a computer based tutorial? I have been using a free program on windows called Wink and a paid program on Mac called Screenflow. Both capture actions on the computer and let you add arrows, callouts, notes, etc.

Whoa, that's awesome. I'll look into it; thanks!
