Anyone playing Darkfall Beta...?

I have been kinda keeping an eye on Darkfall for about 2 years now, not really jumping into trying to get a Beta invite or anything, but is anyone playing it right now, or does anyone have any thoughts on the game?
 
I just applied for the beta because, well, I have a soft spot for MMO betas.
 
This is one MMO that sounds especially interesting; I've signed up to try the beta. Here's hoping that it lives up to its promise of an extremely open world and hardcore pvp.
 
In all honesty, the main reason I am interested is that the people working on this were the people that used to work for Turbine who made Asheron's Call, which to this day I still say it was the best MMO ever...
 
I read the site over last night, it is way to hardcore for my personal tastes. 100% PvP with no safe areas! Full body looting of items! No way, after the initial buzz wears off it will be a massive grief-fest and way to painful for what I want from a MMO.

That is exactly how AC was on the server Darktide (hehe, see some similarity?), which was the one everyone played on, and it rocked, yes it would be annoying at times, but if you are in a city, they will be annihilated by guards if they kill you...plus, if you are in a big guild, it ends up creating huge guild wars that can be fun for hours...
 
Yeah I remember Darktide, I was welcomed to the game by being killed 4 times and stripped of all my newbie items before I even read my tutorial tool tips. Then my friend told me to meet him at some cave entrance but I never made it, being PKed 5 or 6 times on the way. I rerolled on a PvE server and loved the game after that.

Sounds like in this game, even the towns are not safe, the guards wont being paying attention nearly as much as they were in AC.

I could be wrong, but I remember reading an FAQ where they said that cities will have laws, and if they are not followed, the guards will take care of it...

I played in the "Guild" Blood, which was the biggest guild on Darktide, and if someone PK'd me, about 20-30 level...126 I think was the cap at the time, would show up am camp him... Things were good for me...lol...
