Just got a new job that is location independent, thinking of moving to Colorado. I am looking for any advice on Colrado Springs vs Fort Collins and even more specifically top suburbs like say Loveland or Castle Rock or w/e.

Important things are schools for my 5 year old twins, good church, community.

Night life is not important but day time activities are.

Thanks.

I lived in Littleton and Aurora for nearly five years. If I were choosing - it would be Castle Rock.

By the way, if I had to pick anyplace to live other than where I am in beautiful SF bay area, Colorado would be high on my list - if not tops.

And leave San Diego?!? To each their own I suppose, but I love San Diego. Beach, mountains, desert all within 30 minutes to 1 hour away.

SD is heaven on earth, no doubt. But schools are pretty poor and rent is killing us. We are totally spoiled having been in Solana Beach the past 3 years, gonna be hard where ever we go. Saving $1000 a month in rent will sure be nice tho.

I would think something up around Boulder would be a better fit for your family. It has some of the California feel. Except the whole snow thing, that will be a challenge for your sand between our toes family. But hey, grab the snow boards!

Whoa just found out some friends from CA now live in Black Forest (North Co Springs) and live on 10 acres with another family we know ( 2 houses on the property). They have a full on farm with chickens and animals n stuff, and kids our kids ages. This might be sweet, country living here we come!

Come to Cincinnati. We have the Creation Museum. Soon to have the new Noah's Ark theme park. Have 2 of the best amusement parks in driving distance...King's Island and Cedar Point. Just gotta deal with some of the rednecks, but you'll have that anywhere.

I have a good friend that lives in North East Co Springs, just a few miles from Black Forest. I visited there for 3 weeks. It's nice, but way to "high class" for my tastes (growing up and living in most rural and farming areas). The dry weather was a bit much for me, they don't get much rain.

(You should come live in Muncie, IN; living is so cheap here, Canada considers it 3rd world!) :D

But in all seriousness, CO Springs is nice, and cheaper than Black Forest. Just not my cup of tea.

EDIT: my friend did a lot of research before moving to where he is, and he claims to live in the best school district in Co Springs. If you would like to communicate with him, let me know either here or on Voxer, and I will hook you up...

Yes, def want that contact. Thanks!

You should just be like Icthus and move to the East Coast with the rest of us cool cats. Just don't move to Northern Virginia where I currently am if you want cheap living. =\
