Anyone going to Norwescon?

I see that Lois McMaster Bujold is scheduled to be the Writer Guest of Honor for Norwescon 29, April 13-16 in Seattle. Those of you who know me know that my con experience is fairly limited, but it doesn't look like Her Ladyship is likely to get any closer to where I live, so I am seriously thinking about going to this one. I'm thinking that, if I go at all, it would be a good idea to try to put together a joint room party to promote the assorted Christian fan groups, mailing lists, and forum sites which are available, possibly by making up something similar to the booklet we used at VCON this year.

Then, too, my financial situation remains somewhat precarious, so it would be much more likely that this could come off if there were several people to share the expenses of booking a room, providing food, printing flyers, and so on, hence this message. Is anybody else planning to attend Norwescon next year? If so, do you have anything planned in this vein?

God bless,

Greg

Norwescon is one of the largest regional Science Fiction conventions in the United States. While maintaining a primarily literary focus, Norwescon is large enough to provide a venue for many of the other aspects of Science Fiction and the interests of its fans such as anime, costuming, art, and much, much more.

Huh. That's strange. It comes right up for me.

In any case, I've never been to Norwescon, but I understand that it's sort of the equivalent of half a dozen cons like VCON (Vancouver's con) rolled into one, with tons more stuff happening, a bigger Dealers' Room, more costuming, more panels, more gaming... just... more... y'know? (Of course, never having been there, I can't be entirely sure that the whole thing isn't just six guys meeting in the hotel restaurant with really good P.R., but somehow, that seems unlikely...

God bless,

Greg
