Owners of Diablo 3 get three guest passes.
Same thing happen with Starcraft 2; guest passes. Though now, its an official starter edition.
It is possible later on they will have a Diablo 3 starter edition.

Blizzard in their wisdom only rewarded those that gave their money to other companies,with guest passes. Retail boxes include them and those that gave all the money to blizzard via direct download got none....
Retail box = pass
Direct download = shaft
Retail box = pass
Direct download = shaft
