I can't get steam to auto update successfully. Is there a way around it? It just freezes at 36% or so.

[Update] It's going, but oh so slow. 53% and climbing at 1% per 5 mins. Why can't Valve get their bandwidth sorted out.
 
This is very frustrating...its such a small update >1 meg I think, I can only imagne downloading an entire game at this rate when it takes over 1 hour to download a single megabyte. Thats slower than dial up yall.
 
im getting and array out of bounds exception every time i try to start cs -.- i can load steam but not any of the games


currently reinstalling
reinstall > steam (i hope =o)
 
I always get that half-life engine's debugging error or somekidn like that. It requires me to re-run steam like 20 times more and it'll run CS finally. Grrr
