This has been a bad day for me. Woke up feeling gross, went back to bed since I had nothing to do...finally woke up around 1-ish...... to find an empty house. Parents were gone, friends all out of town, sister out with her fiancé, my girlfriend nearly 500 miles away with family...Day just started out bad.
I wound up playing Warcraft III most of the afternoon, just wasting away at my computer desk..
SO around five, about two hours ago, my mom gets home, shortly followed by my father.
now, you'd think at 18, you wouldn't "need" your parents, but I was glad to see them come home, even though they frustrate me to no end. Made me feel better to have people walking about the house, keeping it filled.
Now, we leave about thirty minutes after that to go eat with my cousins and uncle at the local Mexican place, and dinner went well enough, besides my parents ignoring me a good bit and interrupting me at every turn, but hey, that's my family. I'm used to it. What I never will get used to is my mother and father arguing. they love each other much, have been through more than anyone should have to go through together....
I offered to go pull the suburban around so that they wouldn't have to walk in the cold (when we left). So I go get it, pull it around, they get in...And immeadiately begin arguing. I rolled my eyes, and just focused on driving. nothing can steam me more than my parents arguing then dragging me into it when I wasn't saying anything to them. So, we're pulling into our neighborhood when I just slammed on the brakes and said, "okay, here's the deal, either you both be quiet, stop your fussing until you get home and can do it in your OWN room, get out and WALK and THEN you can argue, or I'm getting out and walking."
my mom says some smart alek comment, and I put the truck in park, get out, and start out at a brisk pace on the way home, and all I can hear, through the wind and solid metal of the truck...My parents continuing to argue, and my only wish was that this wasn't an arguement, but them complaining about me, because at least then they'd be on the same side, not against one another.
My logic may seem twisted, my judgement poor, but I knew nothing else to do. I had no one else to come to, so I posted here. Don't know why, just hope someone can draw something good from this, I guess.
Thanks for your time....
Van
