Many of you don't know that my mother-in-law passed away very suddenly last month. She was 48 and died of a blood clot going to her lung. She and my wife, Carrie, were very close and my wife took it very hard. Carrie has had her ups and downs since then, but I wanted to tell y'all about a specific down day and how God turned it into a beautiful one.
Carrie had just gotten off the phone with her father and she came to me with tears on her face and the same question she had been asking the past 4 weeks - why? We had talked about how her mom is with God and is also looking over her and me and our one year old little girl, Maddy. Now this was no different than some of our other talks, except this time my wife asked, 'what if she isn't watching over us and is just gone?' As I held my wife, Maddy came walking out of her playroom, walked right over to my wife, and looked up at her. As Carrie looked down at her, my little girl reached up, took my mother-in-law's heart necklace that my wife has been wearing and holding it in her hand, leaned over and kissed the heart. She then lifted it up to my wife's lips so she could kiss it. Without another peep, Maddy turned around and walked back into her playroom. My wife and I just looked at each other with tears running down our faces and I said, 'There's your answer.'
I just wanted to share that with y'all.
