Am I changing my main? Maaaaaaybe!

Your logic is backwards inkelis, if everybody was about personal progression, nobody would care what the individual did.

It's great fun to gear up alts, but go read the thread where everyone was complaining about progression and why aren't we doing this or that for raids. Raid leaders will have a very tough time getting the guild to raid anything but Kara if there is no consistancy of attendance and people gearing up a character and showing up every week with that same character. 5 geared players that know the raid can carry any other 5 through Kara for the most part, but 15 geared players that know the instance can't carry 10 of whoever shows up through SSC or the Eye, etc. So the guild will determine how far it really wants to progress.

Has Aves even levelled Bannard to 70 yet (I know if he is 70 he isn't geared heh) or is he concentrating on making Avesther the best priest she can be?

Inkelis, I don't mean to be taking this out on you, with what amounts to be the death of 25 man raiding with Mordos\Bax stepping down and leaving the game, I find very little left in WoW to get excited about. Raiding for me was what I enjoyed, there is very little place for it in Redeemed.

Bannard is only 67. I think Samuriaj on Outsourced, Goblit (on many of her toons) and I will be questing from here on in to get levelled up.

Well i have stayed out of this one for as long as I could..

I hate to see us... yes us a guild that prides itself as being a christian guild ripping at each other like this..

Bill.... i say to you pick whatever toon you feel you will have the most fun with... and stay with it. Yes this is a game and having fun is key.

As far as throwing vieness and selfishness into the mix... I see this on both sides.. I see mains with T5 and above running kara for bages...us voiding the gear and other peeps who could use stuff not going...

I also hear people leaving the guild because there is no porgression past where we are at the momnet.... well to me that falls into the personal progression ategory as well... trust me T6 gear and raids have been calling me and it sucks not being able to go there..... but we stick it out because we need to get things going again so we can prgress as a guild.

Maybe its time for people to step up when they say the life of our 25 mans has gone.. Trust me I will miss raiding with Morods but he needed to move on and i support him with that but.... there are more people in this guild that have run these types of runs and who is knowledgeable about the strats and yet no one steps up... riding on the shuolders of one person is not progression its free loading... I am not aiming this at anyone just making a general statement... If 25 man raids and the progression of the guild as a raiding team concerns you then step up lets start working things out we are gonna need raid leaders and yes Raiders... raiders that show up to get this done...

I'd venture to say 95% of the gear I have on Alhana, Gnimish, or Theros never came from a Redeemed raid simply because of scheduling or didn't get to go.

In saying that I chose to raid with other guilds and at times have left Redeemed to do so. I've always enjoyed the fellowship of Redeemed even from way back before TBC was a glimmer in Blizz's eye. For anyone not to say that part of raiding is about getting epics isn't being totally honest though.

As far as Bill goes switching from one toon to another there shouldn't be a problem unless it causes another up and coming raider to be from going. I mean if he's available/willing and not taking someone elses spot let him take whoever. This to me would be the only issue in my book as I'll be honest as I felt this way myself(maybe I'm the only one), people to feel left out and not important to the guild because they are passed over.

Anyway that's my two cent not that it matters much since I'm not playing these days.

Well I suppose I will be considered a free loader then. I've been a guild leader before and I didn't enjoy it. I don't enjoy leading runs and I get very frustrated when people don't do what they are supposed to. It's not fun for anyone being yelled at or just calling the raid off when people get upset. I will not be stepping up to lead raids because I already have a job and I don't want this game to be another source of stress for me.

Bax/Mordos has a lot of patience and that's what made him a great raid leader. Anyone can read strats and explain a fight but it takes more then that to make people feel like they shouldn't give up after wiping several times. I'm not saying he's perfect and I know he got frustrated at times, but he tried very hard not to let it show.

As Avesther said, this may be the end of 25 man raiding for the guild.
Without raiding this game is not fun for me. If there isn't going to be a raid I don't even want to log on. I do PVP sometimes but only to make myself a better raider through gear upgrades. When raiding fell apart in my last guild I turned to leveling alts and I ended up having 5 60's but the truth is I don't care about any of them and I was just killing time. I don't know that I can do that again, it's more important to spend time with my family.

I hope someone does step up to be a raid leader but I won't ask anyone to. It should be a natural descision and not something forced. We have Ug as a 25 man leader, and Goblit and Angry as Kara leaders currently and I'm very glad we have 'em. Thanks guys :)

I used to lead Redeemed 40 mans with Goblit and with the support of many others. I can't say that I would have the patience for people to be screwing up. And sadly, most of the people in Redeemed that do screw up week after week got pissed off at Mordos for his asking them to smarten up. Which I don't think it was all that unfair of him to ask of people, especially when they keep making the same mistake. When doing Lurker, attempt after attempt, there was a group of the same people getting knocked back by spout. That drove me insane...considering I used to stand beside the main tank and I could get into the water with lots of time to spare.

Maybe a new raid leader would re-energize the guild...but the truth is, I don't think the most important peson in my life would support me in the job.

I can't tell if this thread is off-topic or not, but I know I like spam.

I too am thankful for the people who have humbly taken the role of leading the raids. It requires a certain amount of compassion and patience of which I have neither. If we think we need more people to fill this roll I'm assuming the leadership will ask the people they feel will most fit this role.

By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.

Is it really people with t5 and above doing kara for badges or are they helping get people through kara in hope of people learning to raid and get geared for 25 mans? its a double edged sword in how you look at it, but getting a main fully geared and then saying you have enough loot and want to get some for your alt so you are changing mains comes across as very selfish. He has since corrected it and said he didn't really mean it that way but that wording came across and totally selfish.

I think people should play what they want to play. ;D I switched my main to Treehouse when I lost the T4 gloves to a main who wanted them for an offset. Loot pushed me over the edge, but it was the best thing I ever did! (in game of course...)

I do both, run for badges and run to help out :D Lately, I've needed the badges for fire gear for Goodwone for the second boss in Hyjal.

I also think people should play what they enjoy. I still enjoy my tank, but lately I've wanted to really have another 70 toon to play for relief from the intensity of tanking! And, to succesfully play another toon, I would like to have some gear for it.

I agree with you Good. It's nice to have 1 or 2 other toons to play to break up the monotony.

The way I look at raiding with alt toons is that if a main doesn't want gear for his/her main spec set, then it should come down to normal loot rolls.

I was told when I begain raiding that if you didn't produce, you would be replaced with someone that would help the raid progress. This doesn't seem to be the case anymore and I think that's a good thing. People need to be carried along sometimes to get to the good gear so they can be viable. When I first ran Kara with my shammy, I got yelled at for not saying 'want' for some leather healing gear because I thought I needed mail over leather. I ended up finishing the night with like 4 pieces of epic leather healing gear that night (special thanks to Goblit and crew) because noone else wanted it.

We all have different reasons for playing WoW. Some social, some goal oriented. I do think at our core we all want to be the best in the game with our chosen roles.(you will start thinking this when you get camped and killed 6 times in a row by horde)

To make this long rant short. Let's just play and let the gear fall where is may. :D

I have no issues gearing up alts but......if we (me and other raid leaders) put the work into gearing a toon up.....and we need it for a raid over the alt....then the only issue I would have is if the person refused to bring the toon. (Yes this has happened before)

That being said THANKS TO ALL THE HEALERS THAT PLAYED THEIR DPS LAST NIGHT SO THAT THE RAID COULD HAPPEN! Who would have thought we would have 12 healers sign up.
