Are there any good free alternatives to PSP (paint shop pro)

Unix users rave about Gimp, there is a windows version. The other prog that comes to mind is Pixia but don't know much about it.

paint 2.0 and/or paint.net, its a decent program than M$ and washington state university made.

I second gimp. It's almost as powerful as Photoshop but it's freeeeeeee!!!

I've heard that Gimp is great for functionality, but difficult to use. Personally, I think that all of the advanced photo editors have a pretty steep learning curve. Sometime I should take the time to try playing with Gimp. I've only used Photoshop and Fireworks.

I know what you mean Tolk, I've used Photoshop and have found PSP a lot easier to work with although I know I'm losing some functionality... but I'm not that creative anyway... lol
