Alliance Shaman/Horde Paladins

giving in to whiners methinks.. I dont think hordies were calling for pallies, but to make it "fair" the change is both ways

While reading about the Draenai and their history I thought originally that they would be shamans also. But Blizz didn't release that info back then. Well looks like they are going to do it. Now I can delete my horde shammie and make an alliance one.

Well, I for one and not suprised in the least. When they announced no new classes in the expansion, I thought this may be the way around that.

Also, there is one important thing that they did forget to mention. When leveling up, the Shaman Trainer is only going to be around the new starting area. This will be the same for the new Horde Pally's as well. No bid deal right? Well, this forces you to play in the new area if you want to start a Draenai Shaman. You will not be able to go to the gnome starting area and quickly level up. This is kind of like it is now for mages, how they can not go to the nightelf starting area to quest at early levels for Darnassus reputation.

Looks like I'll be playing a new Shammy though, reguardless of where I have to level. :) This also means that I probably will not be playing a bloodelf as I originally intended. But who knows.

It's a very Blizzardy Thing to do

I think it's bad for the game thematically -according to lore, the Draenei worship some advanced interstellar species and specialize in light magic. They shouldn't be into shammanistic religions, since that's the religious background of their enemies the orc.
Meanwhile, blood elves worship Sun magic, which, unless you're thinking in a weirdly simplistic way, means they shouldn't be worshippers of Light either. Instead, it's almost as if the defining characteristic for what religious orientation they can be is their posture!! (slumped over as the draeneii, orc, tauren and trolls, or standing erect, like the humans, dwarves and blood elves)

However, in all of their games, Blizzard has always chosen fun and playability over more idealistic concerns. WoW is a great example of a game that's designed less as a virtual world experience and more as a fun playground. Too bad they took the shortcut to giving us new toys instead of designing new classes.
