AFK in AV = great way to 'earn' honor

I didnt realize this was as big as a problem as it is. I knew it was happening, you can, at any time in an AV, hit the map button and see 2-5 people still in the tunnel.. but it seems for horde its a big problem. Instant ques and they lose in AV all the time anyways so its a very rewarding past-time. This horde post was enlighting....

"Me and my friends asked 4 different GMs in-game the same question "Is it acceptable to actively join a battleground (like av) and not participate as long as we hit the spacebar and watch TV".

We got two completely different answers. Some said that it was acceptable, some said it was not.

The short of this, even blizzard can't agree on what their policy on this is.

I'd read

https://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=60759398&sid=1#7

and inferred that meant 'join, do nothing, get free honor' was against the ToS. Most of the GMs disagree, they state "as long as the player is not using a 3rd party program as per the post at

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=59308889&sid=1

So in short...we're wrong the tunnel rats are right, 3 of the GMs said as long as no 3rd party programs are involved...it's ok.

I'm not going through the trouble to post any more lists. I thought I was doing the right thing, but evidently Blizzard sees being lazy as a good thing.

I've got 2 accounts and 2 Pcs on my desk...guess who's gonna join the rats? Yup. I'm not gonna miss my opportunity for free honor while I level up an alt on the other PC. Heck I might fire up StinkyQueue and put both of 'em in there and watch some movies. All I gotta do is put both wireless keyboards on the same channel and hit the space bar every once in awhile. I can lay on the couch and 'earn' honor."

yes, this needs to be fixed.. what a bummer

On the plus side atm .... we've been winning AV. :)

However, I also do not condone this activity (or lack there of).

While not condoning, I am (as Alliance) certainly not going out of my way to complain about 15 minute AV wins.

dono, kills the spirit of the BGs for me and thus kills a lot of the fun of it. Im sure this will be patched soon, not like its that hard, no healing no damage = no honor.

I am usually on O anyway and don't encounter much in the way of resistance unless they want to turtle and make it a long fight. I will take the 300+ honor and 3 tokens in 15 min or less any day.

To be frank, having played AV a ton as Horde, it's really apparent how completely one sided this map is. The alliance have a much much much easier time of things. From what I have found, if the horde doesn't stop people at the first node, things go downhill very fast on D. The terrain doesn't help the horde defend much beyond that point. The towers at the end are very easy for the alliance to take, as compared to the bridge and towers as setup on the alliance side.

Not that horde can't win, but I find far more often than not if the horde doesn't stop the alliance at the first node, it's GG: alliance win.

I do not want to hear about how lop sided the map is. The horde have the bridge to cross and the alliance have the ally to go up. Both narrow and no way around it. The one thing I do find interesting is how the last rez point for the horde is right in front of the keep while the alliance have to make a run down a path, over a bridge and then finally up into the keep.

But the major difference I have seen is that there is hardly ever any horde guarding and if there is rarely above 3 people.

The worst defeat I have had in AV occurred because two groups of 5 horde would take IB GY, FW GY and play peak-a-boo in the keep. This played real havoc with us and we never got it going. We got drek down to about 75% when the horde won.
