Admin mod, rcon, AMX mod ect

i have set up a lan here at school, and use my computer as a dedicated server, but was wondering which mod to use how to install it and best ways to use it, also i have a problem with a friend of mine with retail HL not able to connect to the server. i need help PLZ i am stupidifyed now and lost

About the problem with your friend, He has to upgrade his Half-life to full version no matter what. 1.1.1.0 is HAlf-life's highest version.

Err.. About the mods..

I have installed Adminmod and meta mod came with it. I think combo of them serve you good. If you want to install WC3 mod its plug in for certain mod so u have to choose carefully. I have AMX mod as well, cuz of my sister's interest in wc3 mod. However, i only use my powers in admin mod rather.

They have a good explanation how to install it and how to set it up. Do those carefully. I screwed up one of them and i destroyed my half-life and ended up reinstalling everything.

GL hf lion. Those light-speed cable inside your school'll probably serve well for a nice lan game. If you didn't know, most of the school use Light speed cable inside the school (my dad's school does and he told me the series of connections routing and all that)
 
if you have a retail half life and version 1.0.5, you cna play together, but if u hav full version, and he has retail HL 1.0.0.5 then it won't work. Also you must have a full version of half-life and cs Mod to make it compatible with a Retail CS

if your talking about running it off a cable connection, typical cable upload speeds will only support about 6 players.

With a decent ping, yes. But if you're willing to sacrifice a bit of latency for playing among friends, well, then, everyone's welcome to come out!
 
me! ME MeME! I'm in Tek! i get 100ping in Toj and me doesn't care about pings anymore. Though i cna pull off scary and nice moves when im at low 50>ping. :/

Not to hijack this thread (again), but I wanted to let Flash (and everyone else) know that I'm testing out hosting a Natural Selection server. Click here for the pertinent information.
 
If i can get on, I may be able to help too. I had hard time setting it up and getting me the pw and all that set..

BTw, any one know how to check there WonIDs? :/ besides joinin up in a server...
