I was wondering if any of you folks use adhocParty on your PS3 to play PSP games online. Given that adhocParty is a free download through the PSN Store, it's a pretty good deal.
As a quick primer if you're unfamiliar with it, adhocParty is a PS3 app that acts as a bridge that allows PSP games with adhoc mode to be played on the internet with others, simulating an infrastructure mode (and allowing voice chat and other features that wouldn't otherwise be available). More details on Wikipedia.
In practical terms, games like the Monster Hunter Freedom series and Phantasy Star Portable can be played online. Being a Phantasy Star fanboy (I pretty much bought a PSP forever ago just so I could import the Japanese release of the game), this is a pretty huge deal.
I currently have Guilty Gear Judgment (which is a total steal for $6 via the PSN Store... especially since it's practically two distinct games) to use with adhocParty, and I have Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on the way. I'd pick up the American release of Phantasy Star Portable in a heartbeat if anyone wants to play that.
It'd be cool if some of you were interested in using this service. Let me know if you wanna give it a go.
