Hey Guys! My account got hacked today. Don't give any of my characters anything.

Characters:

Samboe
Sambosoul
Lyph
Sambothanato

My e-mail also got hacked, so hopefully they didn't get into anything else (i.e. my bank account) Please pray that the WoW account is where the trail ends.

I heard just a little while ago! I hope you recover everything.

Awwh that sucks, well I know how you feel Samboe. When I got my account hacked I couldn't do anything because they changed the password and email to my WoW account without me knowing because they had the password to my email. So they just deleted the email and I never knew what happened. Anyway, I'll be praying for you. I know it's a real pain getting your account back in order and hopefully it does end at WoW!
 
Mine too... someone took my credit card off my account and my account is past due... The shame!!

But on the flip side... Samboe, did it get used by the account stealer all weekend?

Oh, did they clean out the guild bank? Samboe had some nice access...

Unfortunately By the time i noticed what was up The wannabe Samboe had been logged for 3 hours.

I went in to place some things in the guild bank and noticed one of the tabs was a little empty... At first i thought "WoW Arakk went Carzy cleaning things up" but after checking the log I noticed that Samboe "the wannabe Samboe" withdrew a full log page worth of stuff.. I then checked the last three tabs and noticed they were all almost empty and the log showed that they were taken out by Samboe... Which basically means All of our BOE epics that have dropped in Naxx all the abyss and Dream shard, all Of our Epic patterns, hearts of Darkness and so on are all Gone.....

It was at that time I demoted all of Samboe's Toons nad put in a ticket to the GM's...

After waiting an hour and fourty five minutes I finally got a GM to answer and they assigned a Specialist to look at the activity that took place on Samboe's account.. Concerning the guild bank (since I am not the owner of Samboe's account) They assured me that the Stolen items would be eventually returned ... the time frame they gave me was "No more than a week"

That's good to hear...hopefully they'll return the account too.
 
Hey Sam, do you know how you might have contracted the key logger? I'd like to try to avoid it if possible. Could it have been through Curse Gaming or an add on?

It doesn't take a key logger to hack an email account... shoot most people don't secure their email acount and never change the password.

No, We think it came from some files we transferred from my in-laws computer. And just fyi, I change my password once every 3 months.
 
i change it once a month for everything... but sometimes i just use like a variety of roughly 5 or 6 different types... thinkin i should be more creative
