I don't mean to hijack the thread, but Jesus seems clear God's standard is not to take vengeance in our hands. This would make the Church the most pro-life, pro-peace movement in the world. Yet people justify there vengeance whether it is "getting rid of a baby" because it serves our purpose or murdering civilians and taking over countries for the oil we "need". I think non-believers today have a great point to modern evangelism when they say, "How can you say you follow Jesus when you are pro-war (pro-murder)?"
