Abishai's Note

Hi All,

We have been having some major internet problems here in Kuwait. So I haven't been on WoW for a while. Some have asked me to post a note here.
For those of you who don't know me. I'm Chad Maxey, a chaplain with the US Army. I'm deployed here with a Transportation Group. We transport supplies from the ports in Kuwait into Iraq. We have been here since August. We are here on a one year rotation. So we should leave next August.
My son got me hooked on WoW. I have been playing about a year. But have only been a part of the Redeemed for about 6 months. I enjoy playing but it has been difficult since I have been in Kuwait as the time difference is significant. Now the internet connection is really bad. They have been fixing it for weeks now. It just goes to show you how nice it is to live in North America.
Like most everyone, we are trying to get ready for Christmas. It is a little more challenging here. All our shopping has to be done in 2 days or it will get back to the states too late. Kuwait is about 98 Muslim. So not much in the way of Christmas decorations, music, etc. We do the best we can on the military camps. We will have started Advent. We will have candle light services and Christmas Day services. But it's different without families.
I hope and pray that all is going well as you prepare for Christmas. It's one of my favorite times to evaluate my walk with Jesus and make some needed changes. Please pray for me as I pray for you!
I will try to update this from time to time. May God richly bless you and your families this Christmas!!

I hope everything is going well for you over there, I'm praying for you.

Hey Abashai,

Nice to hear from you. It sounds like you certainly have more then a fair share of Inet problems over there. Considering the "black gold" wealth that exists in Kuwait, you'd almost expect a better infrastructure.

My wife and I will be thinking of you over the christmas season. I can't imagine what it is like to celebrate a season that is foreign to the people around you.

My prayers are also with you and it was good to hear from you. We miss you greatly and look forward to your return. I know that it may be strange to have Christmas in another area of the globe to what you may be used to, but remember the reason can be celebrated anywhere and we will be celebrating together no matter what!!

It was great to talk to you again, and you still need to send some of that heat up here....its cold. Brrr! But then Christmas without snow is blah too (I just wish it stayed off the streets).

Zeb and I need to do the Deadmines when your internet gets working better.

Merry Christmas!!

Thanks everyone for you posts!:) Our internet is getting a little better but still not really playable. But I'm able to post here and get my email sometimes.
I really appreciate you prayers!! I look forward to the day that we can quest together again.

May God bless you and your families with a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!!
