Agreed, the only good news you can get these days is what you can pull off the newsfeed before it is edited by the networks. Anyone remember the good old days when a news story would be something like: House caught on fire, it was put out by the firemen. It happened at 2:30pm on Richardson street. Nobody was injured, but paramedics were on the scene.
Nowadays, that same story would be: George Bush set a house on fire today at 2:30pm, to commemorate the time of day that Captain Planet was on TV 14 years ago. The fire's rights were violated by fire department representatives, with the support of emergency medical personnel. It was a great tragedy, however, since nobody was killed, we won't drag on this story for days. Witnesses on the scene said that it was set by the family rabbit, although the rabbit declined comment since he is obviously guilty and deserves to be elected to public office. George Bush will set fire to your house tomorrow, and if he doesn't, he thought about it, because he's evil and conservative issues suck. Many unborn babies were harmed in the making of this story.
