A new operating system/new PC games!

most likely micro$oft will change this policy as soon as they see the sales on vista, which i predict will be unusually sour. (they dont have a million people on ME wanting to switch lol)

hehe I loved the dell that corrupted the windows installation every 2 weeks or so, it was fun watching the BSoD bootup loop.

My work computer runs 2000... never had any problems with it...

It's pathetic though. The rest of the company is running off of beautiful new computers with XP and a crapload of power, and I'm stuck with this wimpy 'found it while dumpster-diving' piece of junk. It's quite sad really...

a operating system doesnt expire :P

micro$oft has already stopped almost all support for 9.x windows. I personally want to install windows 1.0 for the fun of laughing at it and mauling it with dos till it dies.

I'll just keep playing my current and old games. World of Warcraft has a pretty tight hold on me, I just became readdicted to Counterstrike, I've never finished the original Halflife, I just picked up Halflife 2...

...not to mention tons of other games that have already been released that I've could play. I'm also getting a Wii this year for Christmas (my wife already told me) and eventually I man get a Xbox 360.

It's probably going to be a LONG time before I upgrade to Vista.

I'm pretty excited about the Wii myself. I'm pretty sure it'll be the number 2 spot. My money's on xBox for number 1. I'll get one of those too for Halo 3 :-P... and probably Gears if it get's 1337 hax0rz pwnage ratings.

I am going to avoid Vista if at all possible. Although I currently keep XP running alongside Ubuntu on my desktop, since I don't have the time to fiddle around getting games to work in Linux (maybe Vista will be enough to push me into it).

I know there are pretty solid Windows emulators in Linux. Some are even designed with the gamer in mind (Cedega can run with directx9.0c compatibility, although non-free). I am definitely considering moving completely to Linux in the future. Persuading my good lady to follow may be more challenging ;).... dual boot it is then :)
