Well here we go again.

In order to play new PC games you have to buy Microsofts new operating system "Vista"!

And in order to run "Vista" you have to upgrade your PC or by all new parts and rebuild a whole new PC in order to run"Vista". Man what a scam!

Yet We will do it just so we can play so called better games with better graphics and 9.1 surround sound. OOOOOOOhhhhhhhh Yeah Lets not forget Direct X 10.

Yes we must have the ultimate PC with the best of everything. Why so we can keep up with the Jones or is it that we must play these new games because"We Must". LOL SUCKERS FOR PUNISHMENT WE ARE ME THINKS.

So whats wrong with this picture. MICROSOFT MONEY,MONEY, MONEY TRAIN!!!

OH LOOK WHATS COMING ANOTHER NEW OPERATING SYSTEM IN 2008 CALLED............ LOL Oh just fill in the blank yourself.

Eh? Which game(s) claim they will require Vista?

Not since Windows Me has Microsoft given consumers less incentive to upgrade.

hehe I loved ME, i enjoyed how it bluescreened on the first boot after installing it. Poor ME disks died a horrible death, atleast it sounded horrible when they were being burned :P

Play a windows disk backwards and they say you hear the devel, even worst, play it forewards and it installs windows.

So, your saying, you hate your old PC games?

I assume you still have old PC games, cause if you don't, you wouldn't have cases and shelves of them.

A real bummer to see people only interested in the high-tech games than the enjoyment of old PC games.

No need to buy Vista to play games. I will continue to use XP until someone hands me a legal version of Vista (yes, I was handed my legal copy of XP) :)

Both CS:S and EVE Online runs smooth on my XP machine and the only hardware I need to upgrade is my GeForce 2 MX 32 MB gfx card :)

hehe i wont buy vista, im about to uninstall windows to go off to college...

Linux and OSX fullfill all my needs.

Linux is not a server operating system. Its user system is years ahead of anything microsoft has come up yet. Most people just dont like command lines (sure its possible to run linux without ever seeing a command line), but after you get used to using a command line, you feel weird without one...

After you get used to having a stable operating system you get sorta spoiled to the effect that you can leave your machine up for weeks on end without any crashes or complaints.

they have been axing features left and right just to keep it slightly delayed. And I would avoid getting vista for a few months. Imagine all the nifty new viruses that have already been developed and waiting to be released...

The newest Halo game from MS requires Vista. MS has other developers onbaord to develp games exclusivly for DX10(which requires Vista).

Yes and this bothers me because I was looking forward to playing "Age of Conan" when it came out in 2007 but I found out it is developed to work with "Vista".

I guess I'll just stick with MS XP for now and play the games that will run on it.

If I understand correctly, Unreal Engine 3.0 games will run on DirectX 10, and DirectX 10 only runs on Vista.

However, Epic ALWAYS makes a Linux version of Unreal Tournament games, and usually they give people the choice of one of three rendering engines-- OpenGL, DirectX, and their software-rendering system, Pixomatic.

Therefore, I'm assuming that I will be able to play UT2007 on Windows XP as long as I render it with OpenGL instead of DirectX.
