Those who regularly read the Prayer Requests/Praise Reports Forum know that Genesis1315, wife of Hescominsoon, the Christian Gamers Alliance's Forums Administrator, underwent surgery yesterday. Gen posted after the surgery, letting us know that she's home.
The surgery will place a financial burden on Hescominsoon and Genesis1315, as it would for any family. Toward that end, I am officially approving a CGA staff member's request to hold what is sometimes called a "freewill offering" to help ease the burden on HCS and Gen.
For those not familiar with the term "freewill offering," it's essentially an open invitation for anyone who so desires to contribute financially to a person or family. It is never intended to take the place of tithes, offerings, or, in our case, donations toward operational expenses.
There is no obligation or pressure to give. While this is an officially sanctioned offering, the funds contributed will not be channeled through any Christian Gamers Alliance account nor recorded by the Alliance. No funds contributed to Hescominsoon and Genesis1315 will be applied to Alliance expenses such as hosting or domain name renewal. The Alliance will still be raising funds to cover operational expenses. Contributions will not be tax deductible. The Alliance is not responsible for any funds sent or received.
All Christian Gamers Alliance staff positions, including President, are unpaid. While Hescominsoon contributes significantly to this community, no contribution should be considered payment of any kind.
