80 gig external drive problem.

I've had the wise usb2.0 80 gig external hard drive for about
a year and it's been working fine and then when I copy files
from the external drive light blinks off and on when the light should not be blinking off. I've tryed reformating the external drive and same problem.

Is my external hard drive about to go to heaven? :D

The thing about external HDs, is that paying more for them to get Western Digital or Seagate is worth it for life spans...
 
Externals tend to have short life spans if they don't have decent cooling, also if they are shuffled around a lot when they are running they tend to hit the bucket a lot sooner.
