UPDATE: Blizz is now saying 4:00pm.
I'm no customer service pro, but I believe the mantra is "Under Promise, Over Deliver", not "Over Promise, Under Deliver". Just tell us it's going to take 24 hours, if the servers are up early, great!

Y'know this it utterly QFT. Not sure why they aren't willing to just say "it'll be 24 hours." Or they could be like Mythic and say "it'll be 24 hours, go play in the sun." I mean, one day of mega-patch downtime every 2 years they do an Xpac is not that big a deal imo. The big deal is when they fail to manage expectations.
I'm going to get Chiptole for dinner, I have expect to see some Blizzard dude ordering like 75 burritos for all his soon-to-be-pulling-an-all-nighter colleagues as they pull this mess out of the fire. Looks like 6 p.m. now, although they've moved it from "final stages of maintenance" to "finalizing testing" ... whatever that means... Probably some poor sucker having to reconcile Tree's 700 auctions by hand...

We are in the final stages of completing the maintenance process and will begin bringing realms online shortly. We currently anticipate all realms will be online by 5:00PM PDT and appreciate your continued patience.

We’re in the process of finalizing our tests on all realms and are extending the anticipated time for bringing them back online to 6:00 p.m. PDT.
