30 days of EVE Online

EVE Online is $1.99 today on Steam. I'm planning to get it if I can find other Christian gamers to play with.

I know we have a few people who play EVE Online. Anyone else planning to pick up the game while it's 2 bucks for 30 days?

Quick note: EVE Online only requires 1411MB (~1.3GB) of hard drive space according to Steam.

I know Elader plays (very helpful, sends noobies into rough combat zones because his ship has a wide girth and can't fit the acceleration gates, or so he says >_> and the area has anti-warp clouds so I was stuck to fend for myself which wasn't hard, but still), as does Inkelis. Me, Gator, and Grey will most likely be getting it today as we're almost done with our 21 day trial as it is.

Amarr ftw!

Just got it myself. Though I don't have any plans to renew subscription after it's up, 30 days of playtime for 2 bucks is a good deal. Unfortunately, the steam servers are too busy to handle my request to download it.

Wow, good deal. Too bad i already payed 15 for it. lol

Ya, i play under the name "Arrotins" and i am Amarr.

I would suggest that those that got the game hold off on activating until you do the 21-day referral trial from either inkelis or Elader, that way you'll get more bang for your buck and they'll get a month free when you activate. (Elader already has two on their way! /points!) :)

Having picked up the game this sounds like a great idea, but the Steam store page warns that the associated key won't work with an existing account, which might include those set up for a referral trial.

Can anyone confirm whether it's possible to make use of both trials?

I asked on the Steam forums, you can use the product key to activate your trial account (and thus continue your progression) or to make a new account. You can't use it like a timecard, thus the "existing account" part.

Fun stuff; I've got a two week mission trip coming up in right about three weeks, so I guess I'll hold off on full activation until I get back.

I've used up my buddy account activations for the month, so I suppose it could be considered a good thing that the next month is only days away...

And unfortunately I'm going to be hard to reach in game starting sometime next week (after tuesday). Tuesday/Wednesday I'll be shipping my computer and all other belongings that won't fit on an airplane to Alaska, and the only thing I'll have that has internet access is my laptop. Which is currently so old the only reason it is still alive is because it's running linux. However, being the hardcore person I am, it has the eve client installed, though it takes about five minutes to load into the station, and the 3D graphics don't show (I see the UI and the rest is black). So the only thing I'll be able to do is queue skills. I arrive in Alaska July 12. It'll probably be a few days/week after that before I get my machine up and running again.

That said, you will always be able to contact me about EVE stuff by sending me an in-game mail. Wait, you might ask, I thought that was practically impossible considering the current state of your machine? I can accomplish sending mails and the like quickly and easily via this the wonderful (and brand new as of the latest expansion) Eve Gate feature. :D I will be checking it often to see how my skills are going, my corp is doing, etc.

Also, my in game name is Elader. There is also an Elader Arkon, but that one is from a now unused and forgotten trial from a long time ago.

But until tuesday/wednesday rolls around look me up, I'm always glad to help, and occasionally accidentally send people down acceleration gates I can't fit into...

/still has the mental scars :(

I... uhm, I don't recall, I uhh, had my brother fly after I locked up due to my first big battle.

>_>
<_<

Was fun though. :p

The standard $15 but as you progress in the game you'll be able to buy time cards for 300 million ISK from other players, it'll take a month or two to become self-sufficient like that though.

I want to play this game, but steam's servers have been "too busy to handle my request" for a download all afternoon and evening now; it's terribly frustrating.

If anyone here would care to send me a referral please shoot me a PM or message me on Steam / Xfire.

apparently the old ToJ corp had a chat channel. And it still exists. Join TribeJ in-game and we can use it to chat with each other.
