28" monitor

not great contrast ratio.. but who cares for that price. Although why anyone would need a 28" monitor is beyond me unless they are planning on using it as their main TV also.

well I am in the market for a 24 because I am addicted to 1920x1200 but if this is basically the same price should I just go bigger?

Well it is Costco so it is a 100% pixel policy for first 90 days, would that contrast be bad for gaming, the response of 3ms is great.

The other weird thing is there is no DVI just HDMI, do I lose any quality using a HDMI to DVI cable?

no..BUT if you run vista the video driver may knock you down to 800x600 due to the encryption infection not being able to communicate witht he monitor if you try anything like blue-ray or anything in HD produced by the *IAA's.

A great price but I wonder about the Reaction time, some companies are not very accurate when reporting these[since there is no Set Standard] and anything over 24 inches would require a Dual Video Card setup to run at Very High Resolutions[at least with a decent Framerate] :)

No, never mind.

I was thinking of Optiquest and Viewsonic. (Viewsonic is the better of the two.)

Why not wait and let prices go down further?

I use a 20" LG LCD, 10,000 to 1 contrast ratio. I love it, it looks almost like a Plasma screen. Goblit loves it too, but appearantly she didn't love it enough to ask for one for her BDay
