hey i feel the deeper we go into our relation with christ it feels like the farther we have to go. like a pool

"hey look! it looks shallow! let's jump in!"
"hmm... it's gonna be awhile till i touch the bottom!"
"ooo... i thought it was shorter... just a little more!"
">.<"

lol. i feel our walk with christ is like that. we see more and more and more we need to improve on as we go through our relationship.

now for DV, anyway this point is addressed to you!
i am just curious on how you can explain these 2 things:

1. can you explain the unexplanable of people getting healed? i know some people who are.
2. how do you explain people changing their lifestyles 180 degrees after accepting christ? (like drugees, alcoholics, and those kind of people).

i am curious. hope to talk to you soon!

People that are apparently 'healed' via holy powers could merely be the placebo effect in action.

People that change their life 180 degrees could be merely rejoicing in the newfound structure and belongingness of religion and faith. People get a warm feeling from believing that there is someone nice and good upstairs watching over them, regardless of whether this is true or not. It is the faith that does the work. This can be clearly illustrated by the fact that similar '180 degree turns' can be seen in all relgions, be it Buddism, Islam, Hinduism, whatever. And all of these are 'wrong' religions, are they not?

hmmm yes... i see. but however, what if it is REAL healing??? it is NOT a placebo afect. i don't mean like i broke a leg and it regrew. i mean people who can do normal thigns but are physically hurt.:p those ppl!

ha! no placebo! haah!

oh and for the rejoicing in newfound struc. then how do you explain Jaeson being on fire for 6 YEARS YEARS YEARS!!!!!!!!

Can you show any evidence to back that up? In order to actually get someone to BELIEVE in this, there has to be accurate records, evidence and proof. Is it possible that the disappearance of a cancer or other disease is somehow related to a misdiagnosis?

How was this person healed? Spontaneaously? By prayer? Laying on of Hands? Can the effects be reproduced? This question is too open ended to offer a specific response.

Do I believe miracles can be attributed to God? No.

Why? Because there is no evidence to support that assumption.

How do you explain people changing their lifestyles 180 degress after converting to Buddhism?

How do you explain people changing their lifestyles 180 degress after converting to Islam?

How do you explain people changing their lifestyles 180 degress after converting to Hinduism?

How do you explain people changing their lifestyles 180 degress after experiencing a personal catastrophe and coming to a self realization that their life needed change?

People make drastic changes all the time. The change comes from within, not from without. The outside definately influences that decision though.

Which church was this?

Did anyone lay hands on this person?

How do you know the person was actually blind?

Did the person's eyesight remain after the "healing"?

Do you have ANY proof or evidence to support your story?

You REALLY need to check out Benny Hinn.

It was a nondenomanational Christian Chruch.

No one laid hands.... Why would you have to put your hands on someone for God to heal them?

Well.. you cannot see out of eyes that are constantly twitching all over...

Yes, the eyes have remained normal.

Nope... besides about a hundred eye witnesses.

Sounds great Byblos, and it would truly be a miracle if it were true.

I have doubts that it is.

How do you know what his preexisting conditions were?

How do you know that God healed him?

How do you know he can still see. Is his vision 20/20 or better?

There were eyewitnesses to an APPARENT miracle.

I know you think that I'm being a jerk by requesting particulars, but by not having ANY evidence, how do you expect anyone to believe you?

LOL, well as long as we realise none of us are budging, perhaps some civility can return?

hey! you are blind to the truth. it takes a little faith to start believing in god.
-it takes god to love god - quote from some guy i forgot

I think you need to examine the definition of TRUTH.

Frag, I'd be willing to bet that you couldn't give me an accurate description of heaven and hell using your bible as reference.

i could to a limited extent. not hell but you have an idea. and mr. bill
here is an example of what ur saying:

-i don't believe in sharp knives
-STAB STAB!

just because you don't believe something isn't there. however, you will not KNOW it's there but you wouldn't worry about it until it is too late. same idea w/ heaven + hell.
wink.gif

btw, dv i could not. not because that is a fault, but it isn't described that well in the bible. i will see.
