How can you say that God is more involved now than in those times described by the Bible? Before he actually made appearances and performed parting of the Red Sea esque miracles. We do not see such things today.

This came up in the cloning souls thread, so I thought I make a broader thread on the topic. Do you believe that there is such a thing as a soul? If so, what is it? And what evidence do you base this belief on? Also, share your thoughts on animals having/not having souls.

I agree, whether 'bad' things happen depends largely on what you put your faith in. But to make this decision, and to what extent you go through with it, you need logic.

Faith and emotion, largely. But if you focus on only these two, bad things happen.

Again, it's not fair to discount the usefullness of logic becuase it cannot be used to answer all of our problems. However, it is important to incorperate it, for it's function as a bedrock of truth.

If there is such a thing as a soul, then I do not believe it can be 'cloned.' But I do not believe that there is such a thing as a soul. Say we cloned a human. Do you think it would act any differently than an uncloned human, assuming the cloning process was performed correctly? Of course, human...

But we're never going to get any closer unless we excersise our minds' analytical abilities.
