I actually have experienced the same problem with the shooting the weapon and seeing no animation, but the bullets going down. Its happened in multiple games so I think its more of a half-life issue? beats me

well I use a mouse with a ball... I've been using "ball" mice like forever so I'm like used to it I'm personally better with the ball mouse... but yeah everyone has their own preference
