You could try Linux Mint, with Cinnamon. Its based on Ubuntu, but has a more desktop appearance. Maybe it will work with your wireless.

I recently got a new laptop after being without my own computer for a couple years. So im just getting back into gaming. I've been pondering getting GW2 and was wondering if it is still going strong? Do you guys still play a lot or is activity winding down?

I agree with you on all counts. I'm looking for fun casual games with good people. I don't want to spend 1000 hrs+ on the learning curve for some of these games. I'm going to give Warsow and Xonotic another look. In fact it looks like Warsow was green-lit for steam. We may be seeing it available...
