Configuring Android 5.0 tablet for child?

As mentioned elsewhere, I recently purchased an Android tablet for my 4-year old daughter so she can continue to play Monster Strike with me and my wife after MS drops support for iOS 6 and the iPhone 3GS that she currently uses to play MS.

I've installed the Android 5.0 Lollipop update on a Dragon Touch M7. I also installed Monster Strike, the PBS Kids video app, and Youtube Kids.

I'd like to avoid using the built-in profile system because it may interfere with getting apps and games to work.

I don't mind paying for an app once, but I don't want to pay a monthly subscription.

There are options, such as:

Kidslox - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kidslox.app

KidsCare - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tster.kidscare

Kids Place - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kiddoware.kidsplace

And likely several more.

I'll continue researching my options, but wanted to hear from parents in the community who've configured Android devices for your kiddos.

The free version works great but I wanted more flexibility so I bought a one year license. One year from now,I'm sure there will be better options and the one year cost wasn't too much. The more I researched, the more it seemed, you get what you pay for.

I don't mind shelling out some bucks, but I only want to do it once.

I might have considered a Qustodio license, but the cheapest option is a license for 5 devices and I only have 1 I want to manage. :/
