Okay, I'm just going to start out being totally honest here.
I know that most of the people reading this forum already own Guild Wars 2.
I'm not that interested in the figurine that comes with the Collector's Edition.
I'm frugal (and I have other expenses that take priority, like a fence, home repairs, and possibly a new vehicle in the next 3-6 months), so I can't justify dropping $60 on a computer game, even if it's the most popular game in ToJ right now and I really want to play with you all. Even if I could justify it, the last and ONLY game I ever spent $60 on was StarCraft II and I still don't know if I got my money's worth. (I played Brood War in StarCraft 1. It's a long, sad story.)
Phew. Now that that's out of the way:
Digital Spy is holding a contest (well, really more of a drawing) to win a Collector's Edition of GW2. Also, 3 people will win the Standard Edition. You enter by following their Twitter feed and posting some annoying spam to your followers. But that's not a big deal because everyone has a second Twitter account specifically for entering contests, right?
...Right?
...Just me, huh?
Anyway, that's how you enter the contest.
So here's my proposal: Those of you with spam accounts or those willing to annoy their friends with a spam tweet (which, let's be honest, probably comprises 95% of the content on Twitter anyway) AND interested in that shiny figurine, go ahead and enter the contest. If you already have a copy of GW2 and don't have any other candidates for a second copy, send me the code. You keep the figurine, the box, all that. Just send me the license key (or product key or whatever they're calling it). You can then proudly display your figurine on your desk or workbench or...wherever put people put figurines, I don't know, those things are expensive.
And if you win and you give the new copy to your sibling or parent or friend or whoever, that's cool, too. Just don't tell me about it.
Sound good?
Well, here's a link to the drawing anyway. The window of opportunity closes August 31, so you might as well spam all the Twitters sooner rather than later.
