GW2 - First Expansion Pack

Yeah, yeah I know. It's WAY too early for this but b/c its a f2p game and considering the business model of GW1 I'm assuming we could see an EP within a year+ or so.

Where do you want to see GW2 expand to first and what race(s), weapon(s), etc do you want introduced?

I would like...

Location: East of Ascalon expanding to the coast at least w/lots of underground areas.
Race: Dwarfs and some new race. Maybe some kind of reptile like people.
Weapons: Great Axe

I had hoped there might be Dwarfs in GW2 - that would be nice to see. Or Centaurs. As long as there are no Grawl, I'm fine.

I would like to see...

Location: anywhere I haven't been before or humans retaking Ascalon from the Charr (and not peacefully either).
Race: I would like to see the Tengu as a playable race. Villains, however, I would like to see something new (not undead or vampires or lycanthropes, but humanoid bad guys).
Weapon: I would like to see 2h Battle Axe, Crossbow (slower refire, but armor piercing for more damage on impact), Blunderbuss (primitive shotgun for very close range cone-AoE), Flail (like a mace, but with a chain between the handle and the head), Spear (as a land throwable ranged weapon), Halberd/Polearm/Pike, Scythe for Necormancers, and Chronomancy for elementalists (temporal element for things like slowing time on an opponent (like cripple and slow attack/run speed), speeding time for self/allies (faster attack/run speed), aging an opponent to cause weakness, and things like that).

PS: And new Ranger pet: fluffy white bunny (that leaps at the throat of opponents). The most foul tempered rodent you ever set eyes on.

It might make an interesting story for the expansion revolving around bringing the Dwarves back to Tyria to fight the Dragons. There'd have to be some kind of massive story reason because they turned themselves to stone, right?

I'd love to see Naga as a playable race. Centaurs would also be awesome.

Fist weapons could be fun.

Does anyone have a whip? Maybe something like the one the Balrog had when he fought Gandalf - an elementalist could make good use of that.

Combat Gauntlets ftw!!!!!

Hand-to-hand combat style Monks (with the Cantha EP)

I was recently running through a ton of Celestial Summoning Stones and got, randomly, the Rabbit Assassin... He was savage! He hopped straight at the throats! It was awe-inspiring (with sharp pointed teeth!!!)

I was thinking about expansions, and I WOULD love to play as Tengu. Also, I would play the stuffing out of a Hylek warrior.

I would love to see new professions as well... including the Chronomancer as its own profession.

I would bet, though, that it will be a while before they come out with any big new expansions. I'm pretty sure they have a lot of "optional" stuff to sell that you actually have to have before they have to start something new.

Yeah, they've specifically said that their expansion schedule for GW1 was too ambitious, and that they will not be pushing to release expansions as quickly for GW2.

With the CS, we will likely see a bunch of additional character creation options, unique gear skins, lots of town clothes, and DLC dungeons/quest chains for a while before we get a true expansion.

I like the idea of the whip. In addition to Elementalist, I could see the Engineer and Thief using it. A segmented chain skin would be perfect for the Engineer, and a whip based shadow step skill could look awesome.

There's another really good weapon I would like to see in the next expansion. Since its 250 years later, and the industrious Charr have introduced gunpowder, rifles, and bombs to the world (stealing Dwarven inventions), it seems only fitting that Ascalonians be allowed some measure of invention, too. Such as a steam-operated tactical nuclear rockets with multiple neutron warheads that can find the Black Citadel even in the foulest weather on the darkest night. It needs to be neutron though. Hydrogen nukes can be so messy. A neutron nuke only obliterates all organic matter while leaving the buildings and equipment intact. Very clean and efficient. That way we can preserve Charr culture as it was meant to be: stuffed, on display, in an ancient history museum.

Heh, those godless, heathen Charr just won't have a prayer. :D

Game-racists are so extreme lol
I'm somewhat like this when it comes to Zerg and SC2 :)

Another feature I would like to see added to the game, probably in an expansion as the game is nearly finished for launch as it is.

Friendly-Fire.

Right now, in dynamic events, people can just launch everything they have at an enemy and not have to worry about hitting an ally. That's a bit unrealistic and makes GW2 a little too easy. I think GW2 ought to be a bit more strategic in positioning, taking care on when and when not to unleash AoE events and so forth. I can imagine a scenario where this would be helpful: "Yes, I see the six arrows sticking out of this Charr's back, but it was an accident. I didn't realize that my hand drew out those arrows and accidentally hit him six times even after the boss was down and we were getting our loot. Purely an accident." :D

I have been seeing people ask for FF on the GW2 forums when they were up. I have mixed feelings about this, I play WoT and we have FF there, and even with people being spread out it's not uncommon for some inexperienced and sometimes even experienced players to take out teammates. I would hate to see what it would look like in North Norn lands in some of the corruption battles, when you have 30 to 40 people all hitting one enemy. I can tell you from experience it is not fun at all to be shot dead by a friendly. In WoT there are also some pretty stiff penalties for FF mishaps, I would assume they would have to institute those in GW2 to keep griefing in check, like no xp for twenty minutes. In WoT it's no xp for the next 2 tanks you kill. Sorry for the long post just putting in my 2 cents on the subject.

Friendly fire? Nooooooo I wouldn't want that. I've had my #1 skill get stuck on.. it wouldn't be right to get killed by a friend.

That's okay folks. For those of you who slip and may accidentally hit a friendly in combat, we'll just have you all stand next to the Charr. He doesn't mind. Really. ;)

Dude, you've got a lot of Charr hate going on... You gotta let that go, brother. A new world is coming.
