New chapter: Champions Online

Me and my brothers were considering hopping back into it (especially since the box is only 4.84 on Amazon!)

I've played both...they're very different games, but both good games.

I think I've spent more time in CoH/CoV than Champions, but I enjoy both for different reasons.

I played Champions Online during the beta. It was okay. Not bad, not great. Just...okay.

With a backlog a mile long, Uncharted 1 in my PS3, Recettear on my PC, and TF2 and L4D2 still serving well as my go-to games for online multiplayer, I'm in no hurry to pick up new games (the exception being Spiral Knights, since it's an online action RPG and currently popular among ToJ and CC members).

Bump...

Mirakle, Tag, Keero and me have been spending time in this. A few others as well. We'd like to have more... COME ON IT'S A FREE GAME on Steam!

I have a lvl 20-something Inferno that I haven't played in a month or so. I also have a lvl ~12-15 Grimore that I haven't played in an even longer amount of time.

Do you guys get together at specific times to play?

Also, do you spend a lot of time standing around waiting? That was one of the things I hated most about CoH. I couldn't solo many missions but if I joined a group we stood around like a bunch of impotent heroes 90% of the time waiting for this, that, or the other. . .

At least, with Champions I have a decent time when I solo.

Not to mention, my ability to communicate has been crippled as well. I own a headset with a mic but cannot use it because the computer sits just outside my son's room who is generally asleep while I am playing. And he's going through a phase where he wants the door open while he sleeps. . .

I'm on most evenings around 9:30p EST. Also, I HATE standing around, so I'll be active. My global handle is @Augcliffe. Send me yours and I'll add you to my friends list and get you a SG invite. I have fun soloing in Champions but like it better playing with friends.

Hmm, when three of us did a Gold adventure pack, it took about five minutes to meet up and get the main questline going. I'm usually knocking out quests one after the next with my brother or other SGers (unless we level and have to go pick up a power real quick), so there's no real downtime/queues since things are pretty soloable in Champions (unless you're like me and have a Celestial, so much more fun in a party).

I'm on for most of the day, anywhere from 2~10 PM Alaskan (with breaks of course), but can hit me up at me up @Keerosene if you don't get a hold of Auggy first.

And it's fine if you can't speak during grouping. We're not exactly hardcore raiding at the moment. Typing works too. :p

Hi welcome, Glad I saw you on shortly tonight. Yea we dont stand around too much. Mostly doing stuff. This is why we are all playing it anyways! As for soloable sure, I am playing a fire guy too and he is a bit umm how should I say glass cannon, but if you can dps faster then they kill you, you should be fine..> Look forward to defeating some super villians with you.

Thanks. Took me nearly 2 hours to download 1 GB worth of updates (that's what I get for using the slowest cable internet connection money can buy). That's why I was only on for 5 minutes or so. After waiting so long to update it was more of a mission just to get added to the supergroup than to actually play.

Of course, now I need to figure out how to work in a team since I've only done it once or twice in this particular game. It took me several minutes to figure out how to send a tell back to tomfoolery to let him know who I was. . .

Keero has volunteered to lead the Champions Online, so we've reactivated the chapter and its forums, which you can find here.

And with that, I'll lock this thread and leave it here to point people to the CO chapter forums.
