**Warning what I'm about to post is still not totally confirmed by the US**

Whoa -- Osama's body was found in Pakistan! Killed by a US missile strike.

Still trying to find a video of the announcement..soon to come.

but for now, turn on Fox news!

It appears it was actually a ground mission that killed him. It was still US, but there was a firefight and Osama was killed.

Very interesting.

Today is a day where Christians will act like Westboro baptist and rejoice in the death of a man who deserves hell as much as you and I do. Think of this, can you rejoice in the death of a sinner and still give glory to God? As Christians we must point to the cross and meditate on it day and night. The praise of a dead man does not point to the cross. I challenge us all to proclaim the gospel today and not get petty joy from the death of a man, no matter what he has done.

Yeah, I posted this right when i heard it, still early on before they said it was a ground mission. He was staying in a $3 million 3 story building with his youngest wife, not in a cave in pakistan like people usually say he's in.

Epikfail. I didn't rejoice. I am happy though. When a man refuses to stop killing innocent people and repent, Christian or non-Christian, it's near impossible to not be happy.

It's not even revenge. It's JUSTICE. You would feel differently if you had been affected by him. Maybe you were, I don't know. Think about it this way. A man kills your mother for terrorist purposes. He then goes on to kill lots of other people you know, without getting caught, and does this for years. What would you feel when they finally caught him and killed him? He wasn't repenting. The devil continually manifested in him, and he never repented. He needed to be killed to save the lives of innocent people.

Hope this helps you think about it!

This wasn't directed at anyone, it was simply a warning to remember the gospel. Whether I was affected by his actions or not, which I was, it does not change the facts of the Scriptures which explicitly show I and no one else deserved death any less than he did. "No one is good, not even one." Romans 3:12. That means not even the ones he killed were innocent.

I have thought about it.

The ones that were killed, even if you don't consider them innocent, should not have been killed this early. The devil got control of this man's life and killed people, possibly people who were or would have become a major part in the kingdom of God.

You can be happy about it and still remember the gospel. This is an evil man. This is a man who has reaped everything he's sowed.

Who are you to say when people should die? Was God caught off guard by there death? nope. Decipher this by Scripture and not emotion.

"For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God."

People put "degrees of badness" into sin. In God's eyes, sin is all equally evil. The person that steals a candy bar is no better than the mass murderer in God's eyes.

Today I rejoice for the safety of my country, but I mourn for another soul that has been forever lost. Yes, he has wronged our country, but vengeance is the Lord's. Think of how joyful it could have been had he come to Christ - I could rejoice both for the safety of my country AND that a new soul had turned to God!

We are instructed to pray, "forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us." So please, instead of praying for and rejoicing in the death of your enemies, pray that they will come to God.

Couldn't have said it better.

All sins are the same in that they violate the revealed will of God. All sins lead to death, unless confessed and forgiven. In this sense all sins are equal. However, the Bible is clear in classifying sins and punishments. Just as there are levels in Heaven there are levels in Hell and some will be punished worse than others. There are many warnings in the Bible that sinning once vs continually sinning is worse in God's eyes.

To say that God feels the same about a candy bar thief and a mass murder is perverting God's Judicial nature. God hates all sin but there is a degree of Hate greater for some sins and there is greater punishment for some sins.

Matthew 10:15
Matthew 11:21,22
Mark 6:11
Proverbs 6: 16-19
2Peter 2:20,21
Luke 12:46,47
John 19:11

True, and I agree Flame and Mirakle. God endows rulers with the weight of enacting justice. This is not for us to decide, but for them.

Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing. Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor. (Romans 13:1-7)

Whether Obama knows this or not, he is God's servant.

A candy bar thief is never just a candy bar thief, nor is a mass murder just a mass murderer. Thats a bad analogy that only compares 1 sin another when we are all equally sinners. As far as levels of hell goes, it doesnt matter whether there are or not. Hell is hell. Death is death. Separated from Christ for eternity for all sinners except by the grace of God.

That being said, I totally agree that we are to pray for our enemies, that Justice is the Lords and Do not gloat when your enemy falls. Proverbs 24:17

Except Hell is not Hell and death is not death, the Bible has multiple passages that say otherwise and we should not say they do not matter. There is a reason that Jesus said it will be worse on judgement day for some then others. Equating all sins is bad theology and can lead to negative effects on one's walk with Christ.

Hell is Hell. Purgatory does not exist.

there is no mention of Purgatory in the verses I listed. No one has brought up purgatory.

I added more verses and a nice link at the bottom of my post, scroll up and check those out too please. :)
