Bible Study

Same here - at 6:00 I had six people for adobo chicken. Just finished up my Sunday evening responsibilities.

Ok gimmee a day and time, not real sure, maybe need some feedback from others on EDT but 10pm EDT on a chosen day. Sat is a lot of guild events, Fri people take their "out on the town" break. Mon-Thur is work week. Johnny needs input.

Don't worry Ursen - if you have people coming then keep that time. I will come when I can make it. There won't be any time that is good for everyone - no sense hunting for it. I chime in, not to complain, but to encourage.

Thanks for posting the materials - they look good.

Kendrik - I didn't think you needed an invite - you have a standing invitation for adobo.

Ok no one showed up, is this a bad day or time for it? Horton stayed for 30 mins and did the study himself. So we may move on to part 3 next week.

Sorry to hear no one showed up. During that first Bible study I mentioned I'd be in California this past weekend. I should have stated that in this thread. 6pm for us west coasters does cut into dinner time though. I'd be open to a different time.

Ok counting me a total of 3, I think a good study, finished part 3, going to part 4 next week.

Well I won't be able to make it for the next 3 Bible studies. This weekend I won't be home due to a dinner engagement. Next weekend I'll be out of the state and the following weekend I'll be out of town. Hope the Bible studies go well!

Ok on back on track for today at number 4, Many Words vs Persistent praying.

Study went well for the 10th, several people, and only a 30 min study this time. I hope we were able to clarify a few points on the subject of Many Words vs Persistent prayer. Next weeks, number five, is sure to be interesting, Praying In the Spirit.

*bump* Lesson 6 tonight, kinda short, but something that we should thing about, Scripture Praying.

Scripture praying is a great way for new prayers to get started - and for old prayers to brush up. Thanks.

3 new people tonight, went well, very short but a means of developing new focus in prayer. Instead of the usual personalizing Psalms and Proverbs we looked at Ephesions, Philemon, Colossians, I Peter, and a few others. There is a wealth of prayable (is that a word?) material in the New Testament, both for personal, and group prayers to make the Christian life more meaningful and personally alive for each of us. And if we are praying Scripture we know we are praying in God's will.

*bump*Tonight is the last in this series, number 7. It will be a short study on Further Meditations on Prayer, sort of a quick and dirty wrap up where a few miscellaneous points are made complete with a benediction. I would remind you it will be at 2100 EDT.

Ok no one showed up last week, so I am a little torn between calling it done, and going for the last lesson again. So I think after due reflection I'm going to call it ended. It was a moderately good study, and overall I think productive. I do not feel led at this time to teach another study. Among other things we are getting ready for the holiday crush and there is much to do for many. Maybe later God will put it on my heart, or someone else's heart to lead a ts Bible Study. Until then thank you to all who participated, I hope it makes a least a little long term help in your Christian walk.

thanks so much Ursen! You have no idea how thankful I am that God put on your heart to do this.
