From B.C. Canada to Fairbanks was about 2-3 days. And from B.C. to Seattle was about a day, so yeah. xD

Next time I move cross country, I wanna take a train. Seriously. I have never done so, and I really want to.

Especially since I'm really hating flying. It gets there faster than any other (current) means of travel, but it's soooooo bleeehhhhhh. I very much would rather take a train if given the option. I'm fairly certain I would enjoy it more. Getta see things up close and all that.

I've done cross country moves by car, so I'm basing my speculation on that.

I'd have moved by train if the Canadians got their act together and made some railway connecting AK to Washington... That would be an epic trip to do.

Had a McKinley burger today. They are fantastic. and beefy. May wind up hiking up a mountain this afternoon because it is absolutely gorgeous out today, and I'm going to have to work off that burger somehow.

And I just saw the gun section of WalMart. Those guys know guns. I bet actual gun shops are amazing.

How beefy? Cuz comparing it to a Big Mac does nothing for me. Big Macs may have two patties, but they're tiny patties. :P

McKinley Macs have two 1/4lb patties. So there's a half a pound of beef in there. Add in the bread, lettuce, sauce, and onion and life is good.


Decided not to go hiking up the 'hill' today. Clouds rolled in, and while hiking above the clouds is way cool, hiking back down under them isn't -especially if it starts raining.
 
AUUHHHGG!! I want to move to Alaska so bad... My wife is having none of it! GAAHHH!!!

I love mountains, forests, snow, and being boarded up for weeks at a time! What's not to love about Alaska?!?!?!

I mean... You're given God-given excuses to play video games! =)
 
What's not to love? Your mustache frozen to your parka ruff on the firing range at -20. :P
 
Dad actually lost a few eyelashes two winters ago walking 6 blocks to get a truck part in -50F weather (they grew back xD) I've heard worse when it comes to "my sweat removed hair from mah face, my poor beard" stories.

You get used to the freezing temps though. Khakis and a hoodie at -20F is rather comfortable now. :D
 
It's officially official. I am now an Alaska resident.

Got my Driver's License swapped over today, and voter registration form filled out. Good grief the hoops one has to jump through. Though I heard that it's mostly because of a crackdown on PFD fraud. Glad it's over with though. Now I can apply for state/municipal jobs that require said license. :D

what are you talking about? most of my friends are still in college, they stay up until 2-3 in the morning CST, later if its a friday or saturday. :p
 
Oh, but as for TOJ, about 95% of them go offline by then.

I had my window open last night before I went to bed.

I woke up in like 40 degree weather at 8 am. Not fun. T__T
