PWI or BattleForge anyone?

Hey Y'all

I've seen people are on a ton of different games and I was wondering if people would like to join two free online games that I've been a part of.

The first is called Perfect World International (pwi.perfectworld.com). It's pretty much an MMORPG similar to WoW. It's free (except for optional in-game purchases). I'm a newb at MMOs so I'm just starting there.

The other is called BattleForge (battleforge.com). It's one of the few MMORTS. However, it's unlike many RTS games. It's a lot of fun and if anyone is interested, I'm StormSage.

Hope to find people who are willing to come and join in!

Normally F2P MMOs don't pick up much steam around here... I have been playing MMOs for almost 12 years...and a F2P MMO has never kept my interest past 2 or 3 weeks...and there are better free ones than PWI... I know a couple people around here have mentioned it...but I don't remember who they were...

Take it from a MMORPG [expert], stay away from F2P MMOs...and WoW...they will ruin the true MMORPG experience :D

(please, don't shoot me all at once)

But on a lighter note...if you have a beefy computer, and want to play an insanely awesome MMO coming up, check out our FFXIV chapter...the game comes out Sep 30th...

The only free games I really enjoyed: D&D Online, Alliance of Valiant Arms, Trackmania Nations...and...that is pretty much it, and those game barely have over 10 hours on my xfire list :P ...

But...in short...play what you like and enjoy...I am just saying there are much better games and fun out there than in almost all F2P games... :)

P.S. The only reason you got my MMO rant is because you said you are new to MMOs...thanks for listening :D

Yeah, I know there are better MMOs than WoW or PWI. I did a little research on MMOs beforehand. Unfortunately, I have no money (aka college student). I'd play FFXIV if I knew it wouldn't cost me any more than just buying the game. I think this monthly payment thing stinks, but then again... people do need to make a profit.

I'll probably just stick with F2P for now. I'm working on getting into SC2, but again... my monetary priorities go to school first. :P

Thanks anyways...

Yeah...the Pay to Play is there for a reason...and a good one...that is why pay to play games have better updates, better features, and are overall a better game...you get what you pay for...

If you are looking for a good MMO without a monthly fee, keep watching Guild Wars 2...should be out sometime in the next year...many of us will be playing it...

P.S. School is for losers!!! Just kidding :p I have some suggestions for you for affording stuff...but I am not going to tell you what to do or dive into your personal life...lol...

I personally didn't like PW too much. Battleforge does look interesting though.

Just to add to the Guild Wars advertisement. If you don't want to wait for GW2, and you want to know the story behind it, then you should play Guild Wars! ToJ has a GW chapter and if you follow this thread where we share deals on the Guild Wars sales we find online, ranging anywhere from the original GW for $9.99 to all three games for about 30 bucks. I know money is tight in college, but even if you can spare 10 dollars for the original GW, it'll blow away and F2P MMO out there.

Ok, /end GW ad. And if you can't tell I'm slightly biased :p
