Question: Are there any other Pokemon fans here? I hope I'm not the only one. lol

I'm currently running SoulSilver and Platinum, and it'd be awesome to battle and trade with anyone here.

So, anyone else play?
 
I have them, although I haven't played them in a while. :) I could dust them off sometime if you want. :)
 
I wouldn't be opposed to playing a Pokemon game. I've lowered my standards for story and characters in JRPGs, so long as the game has a good battle system. (Not knocking Pokemon's story; just saying it's not the main draw.)
 
what you mean every Pokemon game has the SAME exact story...and all this time I thought I was playing a different story. :p
 
The stories are totally different. Platinum has Team Galactic wanting to take over the universe. OG Pokemon has Team Rocket that simply wants the strongest Pokemon. And... oh... yeah. I guess the stories are the same. lol

Nah. The story in the games is pretty bleh and repetitive, but I play it for the sake of becoming the best. There are like... 450+ Pokemon now. That's a lot of catching and raising to do. Then, of course, there's building strong teams, breeding for the best stats, etc.

I'm a bit OCD in my gaming. I love grinding. Maxing stats. Etc. The fact that the game is competitive in addition to this makes it even better. I love Pokemon. A great deal. It's not for everyone, but it is waaaaay deeper than its cutesy appearance would lead you to believe.

It'd be cool to play sometime, Logos.

I knew you'd start this thread. :P

I just recently started Pokemon Red, and I haven't been able to shut it off. I'm a little more than half-way through the game. Still rounding out my team though, as I found out today it was horribly unbalanced.
 
ill admit our group of friends still jokes around pokemon, but all said n done it was a great game, concept, and idea
 
a buddy of mine was into soulsilver pretty hardcore for a few months until he got Strange Journey.

it's....kinda....the same....ish....

i was looking into one of the newer pokemon games, but i bought a psp instead of a DSi.

still a possibility though.

And there's still time for you to get in on the Pokemon gig. SoulSilver/HeartGold are excellent.

And Black and White are coming.

I have no shame whatsoever over my love for Pokemon. I just threw in SoulSilver to get the latest Mystery Gift download. Now I'm going back to Platinum to get through that game (beat Diamond... sold it to get the superior Platinum... but now I have to beat it).

In a moment, I'll even be putting on the anime to play in the background while I game.

Yeah... the anime isn't very good, but I'm givin' it a chance.
