Vote and discuss for your favorite online (pay for) shooter... :)

Side note: I know I am missing popular games such as Borderlands and Global Agenda, but if you want to vote for them, choose other and discuss here :)

Is this poll for PC only or does it include the Xbox 360?

I ask because the PC version of MW2 is, IMO, a waste of hard drive space since it lacks dedicated server support and suffers from a number of other issues. (Last I read, hacking was widespread.)

I think choosing between Bad Company 2, Counter-Strike: Source, and Team Fortress 2 comes down to what style of gameplay you enjoy. TF2 is more "arcade-y," which is one reason I strongly prefer it over the alternatives. CS: S is just too random (thus my habit of occasionally taking the name Random-Strike(TM) during pub CS 1.6 or CS: S play) and I'm not fond of verbal profanity (shouted by player-characters as opposed to the players themselves). Players can usually be muted; in-game characters, to my knowledge, can not.

But to each his or her own.

Bad Company 2 is fantastic, but Team Fortress 2 will always be the greatest online FPS ever.

MW2 (360):

Pros: Great gameplay, custom classes, great maps (and lots of maps from stock), all the game modes you could ever need

Cons: Bad community, no dedicated servers, no splitscreen online play (360), special killstreak rewards end games faster, nothing too special about the leveling system, lots of hacking and cheating

TF2:

Pros: Fun gameplay, crazy entertaining classes, fun game modes, not much if any hacking/cheating, good community, overall fun and entertaining

Cons: at the start classes are hard to learn, server search sucks (fixed today - good server search now), half of the time teams are VERY unbalanced, strictly team based gaming (not necessarily a con), limited game modes

Have not played BC2 and CS:S...

Other for DoD:S and DoD 1.3. I have recently been playing DoDs and have rediscovered how fun it is.

If anyone were thinking of picking up either of those two, I would recommend source now. The graphics are awesome compared to 1.3.

Not going to talk about TF2 (becuase I could :D ) but I will ask just why people ever liked Counter Strike at all. I'm not a fan of instant spawn modes but I spend half the time on CS sitting on spec after being killed. I'd think most people have limited time to play games and would rather spend it playing than spectating them.

Bad Company 2, because you can blow the living daylights out of everything. Never knew what FPS games were missing gameplay wise until that rolled along. It's like the addition of cover mechanics in CoH and DoW II. After all, you don't spend nearly as much time camping a door when someone can simply blow through the wall right next to you... :D

As for Counterstrike, that's a game geared for the hardcore competitor. I don't know many players who play that game for casual fun, they play to win and sate their competitive side.

After looking into this game, it seems that many people and myself after looking into it a bit prefer the new F2P games like this over this one... :P ...not bashing it, it looks like a good game...Valve makes good games :)

EDIT: TF2 is tearing up! Dang!

Not counting the game content itself TF2 has an advantage in the number of Toj we get together sometimes. A lot of Toj guys make any game better but it's especially true when the game is team based. Sure teams still get unbalanced sometimes but it's a lot different than pub play.

We are like the A-team but with more gibs :p .

tf2 is by far the most fun and silliest FPS worth buying. But Bad Company 2 is pretty fun when you've got a good group of people, and L4D2 is also quite fun.

I could/would never put TF2 above CS as the greatest FPS ever... it's just not going to beat it. TF2 first playable beta release was in Step. 2007. It's only been out less then 3 years. First playable beta for CS was June of 1999 and it's still being played by millions today. That's 11 years of play time. I will give TF2 more recognition when it to passes the decade of use mark. Plus in a lot of gamers minds CS was the first FPS to really grasp what we wanted in a game. I know I have lost my touch/skill in CS (started playing it in late 1999), but that doesn't mean I will ever lose my respect for it as (IMO) the greatest online FPS. To me, it's the perfect balance of realism/virtual game play. You can still take more then just one hit, but you know that in one round if you started as a 5 on 5 and you see that there are 3 opponents dead then you don't have to worry about spawn times and going from the stronger force to being outnumbered. I also like the fact that everyone basically can use the same weapons. Every opponent you meet has the same abilities as you do or could of had.

Yeah wOOt fellow counterstrike gamers wOOt sry spazzed for a sec there choking for air hehehe. I know me silly, but man o man it's more than a game when you listen.
