Network/DSL Problem with wow.com

Ooooook... so maybe someone that knows more about internet stuff can help me figure this out. I'm one of those kinda guys when I figure out there is a problem I wanna know why it happens as well as fix it...

So here's the issue... when I go to wow.com it crashes my DSL modem and I have to wait for it to reset for internet to come back. Bizarre! I've tested it out a lot over the past hour. Ash will be playing WoW and I'll be surfing to websites no problem at all. But then I go to wow.com and the internet hangs about 80% through loading and then everyone in the house's internet stops working and the modem resets. Any idea why this would happen?

It only happens with wow.com from what I can tell right now. The moment it gets to like 50-80% loaded the whole internet in my house goes down till the modem can reset itself. Then I go to read one of the articles and it happens again. Soooo weird.

I was thinking maybe it's picture intensive websites that are over loading your modem... But Wikipedia isn't very picture intensive lol.

Do these sites make your internet crash on all the computers or just your own computer in that you can't got to WoW.com on your comp but Ashley can etc, etc.

Also, what did you do a week ago that might have changed anything.

Everything goes down. I think what is happening is that it is causing an issue with my router and causing the router to reset. So far the sites that trigger it are wow.com and wikipedia. If I go to it every computer on the network loses connection to the internet till either the router or dsl modem reset (I'm not sure which goes down.. but one of them certainly does lol).

Also, nothing has changed at all.

In a moment I'm gonna try and update the firmware on the router and see if that solves the issue.

Did you try unplugging power to your modem, router, and rebooting you computer?

when your computer comes back on, plug power back on modem first, then router, and
see if that fixes it.

Talked to my ISP for the 3rd time and they finally came out and said that the particular modem I have is prone to this kind of problem. Thank you ISP for giving me the run around.. haha. They are going to replace the modem for me.

I have DSL and one of my problems is that sometimes when a phone call comes in, I lose the internet long enough to d/c all online stuff...
