Independence Day!

(Calling it 4th of July is like calling Christmas, Happy 25th of December lol)
 
It's in the same spirit of "Cinco De Mayo", Translating the fifth of May.

Actually I disagree there. Christmas is a made up holiday and the 25th was just chosen to oppose some other god's holiday that the Catholic church wanted to buck.

The 4th is a very specific day in time. It is our Nation's birthday and it is quite special that we all remember the actual day. I mean how many of your friends know the actual day of your birth? It is special when they know it and not just because facebook told them.

True and good point. My brother-in-law is a teacher and to hear the answers of the students when asked "What is the Fourth of July about?" is truly frightening. I've started calling it Independence Day with my family so the kids will know what the holiday is truly about.
