Disk Management says the disk and all partitions are healthy.
It appears to stall before the operation begins.
It seems to happen every time I perform any function involving the CTRL or SHIFT key (e.g. CTRL+V for paste, SHIFT+DEL for immediate deletion). I've had to start actually using my Recycle Bin, which has been an odd (and troublesome) experience.
Right-click operations work most of the time, but not always.
I'll try to set some time aside for the first two this week. I can't afford to replace the drive right now, so I'll be skipping the third recommendation.
I agree it's sad, but I'll likely give the free version of TeraCopy a whirl.
I disabled UAC a while back.
Unfortunately, formatting and re-installing would cost me 3-5 days.

I know I'll have to wipe and reload at some point, but I just received this notebook in March. I should have at least a few more months before I have to nuke the drive and start over.
