Neirai the Forgiven
Christian Guilds List Manager
This morning in one of my classes instead of having class we watched Obama's inaugural speech. Sure beat class. Anyhow, I'd like to start off the new Presidency with prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank you for America. I'm not American, but I reap the benefits of living near a nation that has stood, and tried to stand, for freedom. I pray that you would be with President Obama and that he would listen to your voice as he leads America. I pray that you would be the principle shaper for this change that everyone's hoping for. I pray that President Obama would bring America, and with it the world, closer to your freedom.
I thank you for the freedom that you have given people through America. I know it's been overplayed sometimes, but today is a great milestone in the history of freedom. President Obama is the first President of America to come from an African-American family, a person who leads a nation standing for freedom who comes from a people who were once deprived of freedom. I thank you for your hand that has guided the world towards freedom. I thank you for your Word, for it has been through the impact of your Word that this freedom has come into being, "for in Christ there is not slave or free." And so, on behalf of African-Americans, America, Canada, and humanity in general I praise you for being the God of freedom.
Lord Jesus, protect President Barrack Obama. Protect America. Protect our world. And come quickly.
Amen.
