Atlus recently announced a new title for the Nintendo DS, Tokyo Beat Down.
Tokyo Beat Down is a brawler in the vein of classic titles like River City Ransom, Double Dragon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Streets of Rage:
Atlus already won a lot of love from fans for creating amazing JRPGs that trade played out fantasy settings and effeminate man-child main characters *coughSquare-Enixcough* for modern locales and characters worth caring about. If Tokyo Beat Down turns out to be even half as awesome as it could be, they'll earn some love from a whole new crowd.
It's possible that the title could be a huge disappointment and I'll be the first to admit that the DS isn't the ideal platform for a brawler, but I think with Atlus as the helm, the game will turn out great.

I don't own a Xbox 360, so I don't get to play Castle Crashers, but it looks like Tokyo Beat Down should scratch the brawler itch.

. I'm assuming it will have co-op with those game comparisons but I didn't see any mention of it on their site. They do mention something about a patrol system where you talk to people, gather evidence and review files... meh talking to people. I need to beat on something every 10 seconds to get my nostalgic brawler fix
